I have never liked D'Antony, but I was certainly satisfied with what he said this evening. We have gone through so many bad times that is really difficult for me to be excited about anything at this point and I did not want him to be our coach, but I admit Im a bit relieved we might FINALLY start doing things right.

Donnie Walsh: "With the team that we have now, he (D'Antoni) was the best fit."

This is coming from the Team President. Why the hell is he basing anything on the team that they have now?!? He's doing exactly what the people who like this hiring are falsely accusing the people who don't like this hiring of doing. Judging the hire on how it affects the current team.

well, he might be in the sense that no coach fit Zach and Steph. and he may well be the best coach for QRich, Jamal, Nate, Lee, Balkman, Chandler.

Isles, I don't know what to tell you man. If you can't get just a little bit excited over the fact that theres a President running this team with an impeccable reputation around the league and the hiring of a coach whose won 54+ games for 4 straight seasons, then I don't know what to tell you. Are you really going to be able to sit here for a few more years and hate this team?

You are reading much to much into everything. You could interpret this as with the team we have now D'Antoni was the best fit to help turn this mess around.

Walsh also said that he will partner with D'antoni and they will evaluate the talent or non talent they have on the roster and make the appropriate moves. It seems as though Walsh really values D'Antonis eye for talent as well as his ability to develop talent. D'Antoni will probably play a GM role so the speak in the beginning process in terms of evaluating the talent and reporting it back to Walsh to see he we should keep moving forward and who is just not worth it and should be moved ASAP.

S, I think thats what Walsh meant when he said he was a good fit. He can properly evaluate the talent we have and best assist Walsh in making decisions on who stays and who goes.

Ok, I'm watching the press conference on MSG now for the first time.

I do have to say that I do enjoy watching an interview of a representative of the Knicks whose face I don't want to smash with a sledgehammer.

LOL!

Although, to be honest, Donnies face does look like it was smashed with a sledgehammer.

Don't say that I never said anything positive about hiring D'Antoni.

James Dolan is a gutless piece of ****, by the way.

First he runs away from Walsh's press conference so the big bad press couldn't ask him any questions that would make him look stupid. Now he doesn't even bother to show up.

I guess he doesn't feel like he has to show up now that he has his puppet fronting the organization.

D'Antoni sad that they will "Run the mountains" with Steph... and evaluate the talent along the way. Q and Nate already are running and group of other fat guys will follow...
All should be OK and we can have somebody from the team to win the NY marathon at the end...

I wouldn't worry about it folks. The long term plan will continue on. There will be no quick fixes. All we have to do is wait two years. Two years and we will be greater than a quick fix. D'Antoni will recognize this and Donnie knows this.

Otherwise, plain and simple, all that talk of flexing the cap? It would be a down right lie.

Plus the other thing, there is no major superstar available right now. Making accusations about quick fixes has no backing. None of it makes any sense right now. Unless..............

...........as I once made note to a number of months ago, if and only' if dolan decides to make some major buyouts (or the picking up of most of the contracts) and package it into a major trade, that is the only way I see them going for a quicky. If they did that' and it failed miserably, dolan would be in the kind of debt that can rival the U.S. debt (proportionately).

It's just too absurd to even imagine, from a fiscal point of view. So logically (Donnie) it would be highly unlikely.
I'll never trust this' team again.

That's exactly what he should do right off the bat next season. Just run them and see what you got right now. That's all you can do right now.

Do you guys realize that our money is invested in these players and by keeping them, we are protecting the flex of our cap in two years?
I'll never trust this' team again.

Nobody is doing jumping jacks over this.

Guess I'm the only one doing jumping jacks. I'm also doing squat thrusts.
