They probably would have still been able to have gotten Phillips or the other top safety, Tyrell Johnson.
I'm not sure the Giants would have done that, but the team has made bold moves in the draft before. I think the Jets were just protecting themselves against the possibility. The reason Shockey isn't happy is because Tom Coughlin makes him block--God forbid. He wants to play like Jim Fassel used him... as a receiver lining up at TE.
Well, that's what Keller is. Keller looks like he's going to get statistics, but I don't think he'll be a great blocker. Tom Coughlin needs that for how he likes to run his offense. Keller is a small guy too, and Reese drafts guys with large frames, for the most part.
