So what are we looking at for 08-09 now?


President - Walsh
General Manager - Isiah
Ast General Manager - Glen
Head Coach - Isiah (or maybe some new hire)

I still see nothing but problems and his name is isiah

Until that name is GONE....why be happy about hiring Walsh? He's going to work WITH Isiah not override him!

As to Head Coach I'd just promote Dave Hanners. Did well with the kids in SL so just give him a chance.

Is Walsh's true title just being speculated?

I've seen three:

Overseer of Basketball Operations
President
General Manager (local paper stated he was hired to take over for Isiah as GM at end of season).


So, does anyone really know?

GM: Greg Anthony or Allan Houston
Head Coach: Rick Carlisle
Assistant Coaches: Patrick Ewing, Mark Jackson, Herb Williams and whoever else.

Nice mixture of young and unknown, but the 2 big bosses (Walsh and Carlisle) have a lot of winning experience and Patrick Ewing is known to help out superstar big men. Greg Anthony, Allan Houston, Mark Jackson, Herb Williams, Patrick Ewing = High character and winning people.

for one thing they hire all the staff. Pat Riley is pres of operations, so he can do whatever the fart he pleases.

The only reason to keep Isiah around would be to scout and evaluate talent (thats a stretch) but NOT make any decisions, just offer feedback. So why bother? Why have the cloud hanging around? He is not even a good coach... cut ties

Dolan doesn't have the stomach for a full rebuild... that would mean he'd have to have a press conference, God forbid. So, I suppose this is a best-case scenario, given how terrible things are and will continue to be with this current ownership.

Well supposedly they canceled practice today. What reason would that be for. The team can't be anymore distracted than it has been all yr but we are trying to develop our players right.

If Dolan would have done this at the break like he should have we'd be pass all the riff raft.

They canceled practice because they barely ever practice anyway. So why go through all that with Isiah and the media if they would do their usual half-ass practice for 45 minutes and leave?

I know pointing out the obvious our young players aren't being developed properly and the last 15-20gms of evaluation is a complete joke.

It matters when We and Donnie deny it.

Obviously the Pacers stood the chance to rebuff, he's still under contract with the Pacers. They don't want there to be a perception of misplaced vested interest.

at least rumors are flying. Where there is smoke there is fire. This season should be shut down. Play Chandler, Balkman, Collins and Morris 35 minutes a night. Hand it over to Herb. Send Isiah away. Tank.

I was tempted to start a new thread "Isiah Signs Contract Extension through 2012" but I think Martin and Andrew would just lock it immediately. Those guys always ruin the fun!

I know that anything is better than Isiah at this point...But does it not give anyone pause that Donnie Walsh essentially did nothing and made bad trades the last few years in Indiana..
