Papabear, I'm usually pegged into the "lover" category, and I'm not going to get too excited about the win. They played well, and that means something, but how much something is the question and the problem that's gotten worse.

Marv has it right. This team is just torture. To go from the Pacers game to this, from Utah to Boston, to 4 out of 5 to the Sixers home and home series....

Maybe some players' pride was hurt a bit and they stepped up to show they can do better, but consistently enough to even play even .500 ball? To me that's the bottom line, and so far, we haven't seen it. The culture of the team has been just divisive and there are many other signs of concern over the long haul that make it hard to see this team turn it around too significantly anytime soon.

I hope I'm wrong and they win 9 games in a row and get to .500. But is that likely?

This game showes that we do have players with pride:
Lee, Craf, Q, Nate
There is nothing new about it.
The rest of the team was usual wreck.
This 4 with Zack should start and get major minutes.
Then we can be competative and play 50% ball.
Isiah must do it or he will be out soon.

Eh, I can't root for the team to lose. Tanking doesn't always pan out anyway. I'll always take the win. I will tell you this though: The win last night doesn't excite me one bit. Wake me up when we win 8 of 10 or 10 of 12. That's when I'd take notice and get the feeling there might be something there.

Do you really care if these losers make the 8th seed and get swept out rather than finish in the top 5 of the lottery? Because I do. There is no point in winning. This team has no future championship contending in them and winning only prolongs Isiah's stay here.

Yes, I want my team to win as many games as possible. I'm not going to speculate that it's good or bad given certain win totals suggesting one could lead to some huge improvement while the other is a total waste.

Yet, the ONLY time I'd root for my team to lose is if someone came to me and said "Word is if Isiah loses the next game he WILL get fired."

Then, yes, for ONE GAME and ONE GAME ONLY I'd root for the team to get blown the hell out.


Since there IS NO GUARANTEE that any number of losses means the end of Isiah - or any number of losses would give you a franchise player this june? Why root for the team to lose? Might as well stop watching until you see the headline most of us want to see "Knicks fire Isiah Thomas"

Well said. That's why while we still stink I defeintly enjoy it when the Knicks win. Those of y'all who have been consistently gloating or laughing when we lose, singing the praises of every other team, even the ones that stink still aren't fans. Isiah making a complete mess of things doesn't make you fans either.

I don't think you wanting to lose as many games as possible to get Isiah fired means you're not a fan I just think it's unrealistic to expect everyone to feel that way. I want him gone but I can't tune into every game and root against them. Seems kinda pointless and if it came to that I'd just stop watching until that headline came across the wires that Isiah was fired.

I'm about up to that point because I've already done the "rooting to lose" thing. And while you say losing doesn't guarantee Isiah getting fired, winning DOES. And losing gets us a better chance at a top pick for a franchise player we so desperately need.

Well I don't know you. But if you're laughing at and relishing every Knick loss, cheering for every other team and pissed when they win, then I think it's pretty obvious.
