73 games remaining

The Marbury Mutiny jacked up the West Coast karma but even with the added distraction of Zach's absence, there have 4 losses settled by less than 5 points.

start shooting better than 38%

Yes, and the reason they've lost those games by 5 points or less has been shoddy execution, poor coaching and horrendous shooting. They're talented enough to have won those games by 10 points, but poor execution throughout, bad rotation decisions and dumb play has turned them into losses. Sounds like a bad team, not a playoff team. Throw in the fact that the coach can't trust his star player, but won't listen to his team when they ask him to bench the guy (meaning they can't trust him, no matter what they say) and it sounds like the coach needs to go.

crzymdups - I feel your pain and understand what you are hurting over. I really do. I hurt each and every night the Knicks lose.

I see the same bunch of guys making the same poor decisions at the worst possible times - from Jamal hoisting an off-balance three to David Lee hitting a fan with an inbounds pass. I see the same game you see and cringe as I wonder if it will ever change for the better.

But here's what's up. I see basketball as a game of delicate balance where the equation can change as players settle into their Winter routines. Thankfully, it is only mid-Novemeber and whatever rain cloud is hovering over our beloved franchise will eventually dump and (partially) cleanse the place or the sun will (hopefully) appear.

Deep down inside, you know like I know that neither Donnie Walsh, Jerry West or either one of the Colangeloses are pulling a limo up to 2 Penn Plaza anytime soon, if ever. There is a much better chance of Barry Bonds being a first ballot Hall of Famer.

In addition, unless there is a palace revolution in David Stern's office, the Dolan family and Cablevision isn't selling to Bill Bradley, Spike Lee, Woody Allen, Star Jones or Tom Brokaw.

So what does it all mean?

Hell if I know. If you wanna take a legitimate stand to make our voice heard you can bitch and moan, wring your hands or even divest yourself of every piece of Knicks merchandise, cable subscription and refuse to patronize any sponsor of Knicks Basketball. Hear me now and believe me later - The only sound the Dolan Family understands is the sound of cash registers.

Or you can continue to watch with one eye open and look for subtle clues that perhaps just one freakin' Knicks player (or coach) CAN get his act together and begin to make a difference in this crazy orange and blue Bizarro Universe.

Me?

I'm watching with my fingers crossed and sipping on a Barq's Root Beer just to keep a sweet taste in my dry mouth in hopes that someone... anyone.. will hit the open man and get back on defense. Beyond that, I got too much other stuff to be worried over.

I plays 'em one game at a time.

Misterearl,
No, you funny. When you're right, you crow. When you're wrong: "[you] got too much other stuff to be worried over."

Is Rose Colored considered a dark tint?

Weren't you the guy daring people to come up with someone who could competently replace Isiah? Nah, that must have been some other insecure person.

Don't forget, he thinks Crawford is an emerging star in the midst of all this turmoil too.

And he's always posting more after any win to gloat about being right about something. But no, it's everyone else that has an insecure fascination to be proven "right".

For Christ's Sakes, he was gloating over Summer League performances.

Summer League?!?

Sheesh

If anything, The Knicks are unpredictible. Which means that amid all the chaos and speculation of a mid-court beheading, they will defy the sour public mood and win tonight.

It is truly an honor to have the number of my posts counted and monitored closely for content

New Jersey has lost four games by 22 or more points this season and six in a row.

22 points or more and six (6) in a row.

Actually they've been extremely predictable: If you predict a loss, you have about a 75% chance of being right for any given game.

Panos - not me. I hate the Nets almost as much as I hate the Celtics, but closer to the amount I hate the Indiana Pacers.

I just thought their six in a row would make our six in a row look better.

so sue me.

Dang it Bonn - pass the freakin' jelly donuts!

bonn - i have no wisdom. Just a crazy perspective on the marathon season that sez there is a long way to go.

Bring on December

"We have the ability to change that," Thomas said. "There's a lot of time left to change that. Our fans are supportive. They come to the arena every night, cheering for us, wanting to see us win. They don't come every night to boo and be angry at us. When we don't have a good performance, that's their right."

Impossible?

nope

Deng

"If we knew what was wrong, we'd solve it," said Deng, after sitting out his third straight game with a back injury. "At this stage, our record is more surprising than the Knicks' record because we were a playoff team last year and people are expecting a lot out of us. The way the Knicks ended the season last year, a lot of people didn't give them a lot of credit."

Well I agree with Deng that their record is more surprising than our record! We simply picked up right where we left off in the last 15 or so games last year.

bonn - so it could stand to reason the Knicks are due a more cohesive stretch like last season where the basketball was actually fun to watch.

71 games still left to play

71
