causes me to wonder of the prospects of him even playing again on a reasonable level.

I'm confused by this sentence Ike. You said "again". Was that a typo?
I just hope that people will like me

Isiah is out of control. He totally played with Nichols. I am hoping that this is last hurrah as an arrogant person in a powerful position. He needs to go now more than ever.

Nobody is suggesting that this is the end of the world on it's own. The point is that it's just a continuation of the poor management by Isiah that has put us in this postition.

The deadweight and the redundant players on the roster cost the Knicks a young player with a skill that they desperately need and a 2nd rd pick next year. Yet another asset wasted for nothing.

I've defended Isiah at times on this board, but this move has me heated to Islesfan proportions. I'm not tryinig to make Dnic out to be the next Reggie Miller, but the goal of this struggling franchise should be to make roster moves with an eye on the future.

The idea that Fred Jones (who most likely will be gone next year), JJ who was gone before he started, and Malik (the only coach in the league that doesn't wear a suit) Rose, all get to remain while a player with a skill-set desperately needed, not only here but throughout the league, has to walk.

Isiah's poor roster management skills has backed himself into such a corner, that he can't even reap the rewards of his one only skill which is talent evaluation. I'm literally sick to my stomach right now. The Phoenix Suns, who are in more of a win now mode than we are, managed to make room for DJ Strawberry who was picked 59 (5 spots behind Nichols). This is a ******** joke!

Fred Jones? Jerome James? Malik Rose? Give me a break.

That could be a worse trio than Travis Knight, Felton Spencer and Rick Brunson.

Shanvis Eisleyspoon = Feromelik Rojojames??

Isiah is in win now mode. The thing that really is bad is he is making decisions that must pan out in the next 25 games and not caring about the future that will no include him.

So buh bye Nicols. Isiahs best legacy is for him to go away and then bath in the glory of his rookies maturation long after he is gone. Kind of like Layden was for drafting Stockton and Malone.

I guess when the team goe off to a good start and JJ1 can log his 7 min a game in back up of Morris after injuries to eddy we can really be grateful he did not get bought out!

It pains me to say this but I actually agree with you, Isles and the boys. This move is absolutely ridiculous.
Its so obvious we needed Nichols its not even funny.

Nalod your comment hits the nail on the head.

No need to over react, there will many more D-Nics' in the future drafts. There was no room for him on the bench all he would have done here was rot on the bench. Now he might get a better chance else where. As for Buying out Jerome its easy for us to say buy him out but we aren't paying for his buyout. Keep JJ around because lets face it there is no room for him to play here either so just let him rot on the bench because I really don't want him in the games anyways. I would have a problem watching D-Nic rot on the bench where as I don't with JJ.

should've cut fred jones.

with mardy at 6'5 and able to defend and balkman coming back, we would've been fine without fred jones.

Isiah I think did this thinking there were going to be more moves made in the off season. He was gathering players just in case a block buster deal came along so he bought rights to players and traded for D-Nic and so on. Either he wanted to hide him in Europe for sometime or he wanted them as trade assest or to keep on the team if a deal didn't involve him. Unfortuntely D-Nic didn't want to go to Europe so that option went in up in the air and no deal came along.

Isiah forgot to take into account that "just because Isiah drafted him..." is simply not a good enough way to explain a guy's talent.

DNic was a 2nd round pick. Honestly how important a piece of any trade would he realistically have been? Just because Isiah drafted him is simply not enough to get a deal done.

Oh please! When can we just get rid of this idios of Isiah!? I totally hate him and even if Im a Knicks fan I can't love them completely with this pompous idiot in the driver's seat.

How can FV*K!#@ Jerome James still have a job in the NBA and a young talent like Nichols, who was acquired by Isiah, winds up waived? Ohh please, how can people defend this pathetic manager that just gave away a 2009 2nd Round Pick just because he wanted to? This is amazing! The Knicks really deserve to suck big time with a pathetic a##hol3 like him!

And for those ready to write about how its exaggerated to have this reaction for DNich, you are missing the point that its just another terrible decision by Isiah. And the fact that he wasn't able to accept his mistake on Jerome, eat his salary and keep DNich just proves you that he is the same idiot that loves to create worthless headlines and has no real plan.

The Knicks will be real contenders only after they fire this sorry guy...

They are funny about the money. Piss it away and overpay for picks, but then protect washed out players.

If isiahs job hangs on the play of Rose and JJ1 then it really is a sad state. I could almost hang on with at least the thought that they really are building somthing but is really silly.

Its sad when victories would validate isiah.

It like it, even though it doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily... much like Isiah's tenure in NY.

Feromelik Rojojames = pwned.

even if the justification to keep freddy jones was win now- exactly how much is freddy jones going to help?

If you released him, I'm betting no one would have signed him- I don't know if this is legal- but mid year, if Nichols isn't doing anything or showing promise in practice- release him and sign Freddy.

Nichols will not be out of work long, not after his summer league performance.

I said throughout that dnic would get picked up in a heartbeat- I thought someone said he'd already been signed by the cavs.

Freddy Jones only helps at the expense of Nate, Balk, and Mardy. He also is not as an effective player as any of those guys. Isiah should call him his draft mulligan and waive him.

Its disappointing that we couldn’t figure out a way to hold on to Nichols and Jordan. To let them go while retaining Jerome James is inexplicable. You just have to figure that this team has made so many poor financial decisions that our hands are now tied.

There really is no other conclusion. This reeks of complete incompetence. Its like those out of control spenders that max out his or her credit card without regard for the future, then is smacked back to reality in the form of credit ratings and mounting debt.

Zeke was snake-bitten by his own mismanagement. Nichols belongs on this team; at the very least a legitimate shot. SMH, this sucks. Oh well, I'm still a college student. Time to get drunk
