You say that Randolph isnt a 5 then the fans will have a problem all year. The knicks will rotate Lee, Randolph, and Curry for these two positions most of they year. Last year Lee guarded Ming and Duncan so they could protect Curry. Not many teams have a true center in the East so I think losing Curry hurts but you have a guy that can start in Lee. If Q or Crawford gets hurt you dont have a backup with as much experience

This sucks but let's see what Randolph Morris can do. Very important to rest Eddy until he's 100%. No need to rush him. I wanna see Morris get some time. Morris had a great summer league and I think he can help us. Jerome James is still not an option for me. Never will be. I'd rather suit up and man the 5 instead of that clown.

I was think that Malik might get the start. Morris also needs to get his feet wet.

If Isiah starts Malik instead of Lee, I'm gonna sue him for $11.6 mil!!!

There is no way Rose will start in front of Lee tonight.

That's his shooting arm too huh?

Too bad. NO EXCUSES!

Very ironic some of us were pointing to the fact the Heat, New Jersey and other teams would be/are vulnerable to the injury bug which hinders their chances to make the post season and Lo and Behold EY and Balkman come out the gate gimp. Oh well.

Isles I'll assume you're Ivory and me being Ebony will chime in and sing the same tune with you......

Are saying you are not hyped to see Malik do his 10 head fakes to shoot an airball? Or his spin moves to fall out of bounce? Or Malik catching a spasm doing a layup? I am really disappointed.

Damn torn cartilage...wow that really ****s up my predictions for this yr.

I had this same injury playing football and I was out for 5 weeks and it felt awkward when I came back.

Is this an excuse for not making it to the post-season? Is the remaining $80 mil in healthy contracts we have not good enough to go .500 in the weak east?

Why is there so much overreaction on this forum? It's possible that this may not take long to heal.

"Couple of weeks'' for Curry
By MARC BERMAN
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Knicks won't know for sure until their own doctors read the MRI tomorrow, but for now the club seems optimistic Eddy Curry could be back in about two weeks. The MRI showed a labrum tear in his right shoulder and he'll need rehab.
The Knicks would not give an official timetable until tomorrow, but Isiah Thomas indicated a "couple of weeks'' is in the ballpark. Curry entered the University of South Carolina arena for the morning shootaround with a grin, tipping his hand.
Curry talked about shooting for next Wednesday's game in Boston, but that's unlikely. You don't want to take chances with a shoulder.
Curry will likely miss more than half their exhibition games, including tonight's vs. the Sixers here. But there was a small possibility before he took the MRI that he could have a torn rotator cuff, which is season-ending.
Curry reported his rotator cuff looked fine on the MRI read by South Carolina doctors. But Curry won't be able to pitch tonight for the Yankees, as Isola of The News joked.

Randolph: Watch us closely. We're not going to talk a lot, we are just going to come out and play solid basketball, and we are going to shock a lot of people.

that's called talking.

He did say "We're not going to talk a lot". The key word being "lot", which is not the same as saying nothing at all. I don't mind if the team expresses confidence. So long as they do most of their talking on the court. Steph and Nate are the most vocal players. Other than them, this team doesn't do a lot of talking. As usual the media tends to make it seem like it's the whole team when it's clearly not. Just like they make it seem as if the team has a lot of bad guys, when that's not true either.

IT and Steph already shocked a lot of people. Can Zack do more of this?
I believe he can. Just give him some time.

Anything with the word tear should never just take a couple of weeks, especially in pre season. Curry needs to take his time and just work hard in rehab. The Knicks rushing Curry to win extra games at the beginning of the season spells Glen Rice, Ewing, McDyess, Houston and possibly Marbury. Not good.

All I know is Curry better get a second opinion instead of listening to those crazy Knicks doctors. You could be hit by a car and have both your arms and legs broken and the Knicks doctors will tell you 1 to 2 weeks.

So the center of our team, gets hurt, thus hindering the opportunity for Curry and Zach to gain on the court chemistry, and instead of the majority of us saying "Hope he gets back soon," we resort to "No excuses." Nice.

Beast, you have to understand where these guys are coming from. The thing they are looking towards the most is being able to say "told ya so" and continuing to bash the team and its head coach/GM, not Eddy Curry getting back and having success alongside Randolph. You want good wishes from a bunch that wanted Curry "executed" by the end of his best pro season?

So now they trot out the "No Excuses" line as though any team in the league should be able to bounce right back from losing its starting center and, probably, 2nd best scorer, no matter if they are a bubble team still establishing themselves. They don't want their "fun" to be spoiled by any sense of reality. Funny thing is this same group will happily point to Kristic's injury as the reason for the Nets nearly stumbling out of the playoffs last year, but for the Knicks it’s just an "excuse".

It is far too early for this kind of talk. I don't think missing two weeks of playing together in the pre-season is going to have wide ramifications for the outcome of the season. I hold a healthily skeptical view that the two will work together well anyway, that doesn't change now.

It’s a good sign that last night Randolph was scoring at will from the outside. He is going to get good looks when Eddy returns. Question now is if he is going to get enough touches. You just have to hope that while dropping 20 lbs this off-season he was also practicing passing out of the double.

Who are you kidding? I can already say "I told you so". I just try to be liberal with it and let other people say it for me.

Krstic and Jefferson and still made the playoffs. Winning a round and losing the eventual conference champion. I guess it wasn't an excuse for anything after all.

The Lovers use anything as an excuse. Hell LB is still being used as one. Why not nip this "excuse" in the bud now?

I keep seeing this reference to posters on this site wanting Curry "executed." I must have missed that. When did anyone say they wanted Curry "executed?"
