TKF I believe Marbury is hurting the team. I think the team bonded last season and Marburys erratic contraversial behavior could mess with that like it did in the past. It isnt too late but its August now so how about no more Marbury media for a month?. I dont think thats too much to ask. No other Knicks have this constant need to be in the media.

he's got a right to talk about McHale if he wants, just like McHale has a right to respond if he wants... none of us know what went down between those 2 but them.

what bothered me about what Steph said was this:

"On paper, they're a really good team with guys who can really play, but they still have to get on the court and do it," Marbury said. "Chemistry is everything. We look good on paper, too, and we have a year under our belts.

Note to Steph:

we've been waiting for you to get on the court & do it ever since you got here... stop talking about other teams & start taking accountability for your own damn self for a change... you're supposed to be the best player on this team... you're supposed to be a leader... get out on the floor & do it.... stop talking about "we're going to do this & we're going to do that"... you say the same crap every season & every season you fail to deliver... talk is cheap... the time for talk is over... go out & show us something this year... show us why we should spend our money supporting this team that's disappointed us time & time again & failed to live up to expectations... can you do that? can you be a man & be accountable for the team's expectations going into this season instead of worrying about how other teams in the division are going to live up to theirs?

come on, there was nothing wrong with that comment. Now while you may have a few posters here cheering on what you said, I don't completely agree. All marbury said is what most players in this league would say. marbury likes and respects garnett, so he was not trying to take a dig at his buddy, he was just saying the game isn't played on paper and he went on to say, we look good on paper and have a year under our belt and we are still a 30+ win team. So if anything He took a dig at his own team it seems... I really don't see the big deal about what was said here fellas. Only if you are anti-marbury are these comments such a big problem!

tkf, u just acknowledged yourself pretty much that talk is cheap & that Marbury needs to shut up & let his play do the talking... how is that different? i'm sick of the rhetoric & the empty promises from this guy... "I'm going to average 12 assists this year" after the Zach trade... "We're going to make the playoffs" last season... "I'm the best PG in the NBA" the year before that... when are we going to see these things that he keeps blurting out is what I wanna know.

Interesting that you don't acknowledge your boy Jamal as the main culprit of "We're going to make the playoffs" and for that matter I would like to throw David Lee into that same category. This is his second season of "We're going to make the playoffs. He threw in a definitely to boot.

Interesting that neither of those guys makes nearly the big bucks that Marbury does, nor were they billed as being stars when they came here that could take this team to the next level and be leaders of this franchise

But that's fine, i have no problem holding either of those guys accountable either... everyone on this team needs to be accountable for their failure to live up to expectations... you of the narrow mind would assume that i hold Marbury completely accountable for this team's failures on his own, when that was never the case... but it is fair to say that responsibility & accountability needs to start with him being as though he likes to portray himself as 1 of the leaders on this team.

The best thing what to have said nothing or a contentless staement. But I mean c'mon you want him to tell everyone that the Celtics will win the East and how great they are? If he did that you'd be bashing him for throwing in the towel. ANd you want him to say that his own team surely will have trouble gelling? Even if he did beleive that there's noway in hell saying that would help the team out at all.

Why does he have to say anything at all? You see Jkidd in the press about it? Vince? Iggy? Dalembert? Bosh? Any other Knick? Would it be so awful if 3 days went by without a Marbury article this off season?
