I think it's reasonable that he wants to spend time with his wife; especially when it was planned. As much as we scrutinize these guys during the season and off-season, basketball should not come before their families. Besides, didn't we just discover that he was working out at home. It's not as if he's laying around doing nothing. And even if he was, it is his vacation. As long as he doesn't come to camp in bad shape, shouldn't be allowed to do as he pleases on his vacation? I certainly wouldn't want my boss pulling me for my vacation for any work-related reasons. Especially if I had something planned.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

Who doesnt know that Eddy, as with many NBA players, could care less about their teams and are more about the lifestyle it provides. I know Ive heard Eddy say on at least one occassion he didnt grow up loving Basketball, he just happens to be a talented big guy.

I also like how people use Ewing as the example who was notorious for blowing off Riley's voluntary camps and off season strength training programs.

This notion of minicamp is ridiculous. If you look around the league instead of the Knick bubble you would see that most veterans don't show up for "mini-camp"(when did this become football?). This is unimportant. Eddie and Zach aren't going to gel in one short week. The important thing is that our players are strengthening and healing their bodies, working on their games and getting in shape and ready for the pre-season. This is when the gelling will take place.

Now the question is, are our players doing this? Of course going by track record we can guess that most of them are slacking. But as much as I doubt the players on this roster I still have to wait until the season starts before I can truly make this determination.

If Curry's handlers are really saying, "its on Isiah" to make this work, then that's retarded.

The only move that could have made life easier for Curry would have been if we got Jesus Shuttlesworth.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Hehehehe, you don't have a clue man

It doesn't matter if the bulk of you and us are fat guys talking stuff on an Knicks fan site all day on the hour Ad Nauseum with the same repetitive responses.......or that the bulk of us aren't doing our job at work (now there's commitment for you) because we're posting hundreds and hundreds of times about a flippin Basketball team. It doesn't matter because.....we supposedly have a life.

He went with his wife or he didn't. It doesn't matter if it's true or not...because as long as he performs on the court to championship expectations....it won't matter that he hung out with his wife on that special day (sounds corny to those that aren't married.....and smart to those that do).

So, on that note I leave you all with this.....Get back to work you Bastards!

Que Eddy Joke here.

hey! how much dedication does this show that we're posting like hell during the off-season!? do you want us to get out of posting shape and show up for the start of the season unable to get our 100 posts a day off?!?!?!?!?

Wallace dont fall for Bermans crap. Nobody in Eddys "camp" said that because Eddy doesnt have a "camp" and because thats nothing like Curry.

Berman isnt a journalist. He is a paid hack. No different than Rush Limbaugh. He did his job. He put out a bunch of slanted unverified garbage and got a bunch of people talking about it. Is it credible and unbiased? Who cares? Thats not the point for Berman and the Post.
You dont see Howard Beck and the Times pushing this kind of garbage.

It's all hearsay. Why people put any stock into these offseason rumors(both good and bad!!!!) amazes me. Every year we hear these reports of this guy and that guy being in "the best shape of their lives" and yet they show up in camp out of shape. Every year we hear about problems between teammates that turn out to be good friends. Every year we hear aobut guys taht have improved their jumpshots only to see no results come the season. Every year some players are ignored yet they come into camp drastically improved.

It amazed me that we have so many people that see this year after year, yet still beleive every word(good and bad) that they read. It's mind boggling really.

Can't believe I came off sounding anti-Curry and Andrew is pro-Curry in this thread. Something is wrong here.

I don't post that much on vacation. I might touch base a bit here and there but not much.

Like two weeks ago Im doing the 12 stations of Christ in Jerusalem and contimplated firing up the laptop and doing gay robot jokes on Bonn3po, but instead wanted to see the Church of the Redimer and other notable sites.

And this was 4 days before the DRAFT!

Eddy gets paid over 10 mil a year. Thats a sizable commitment and perhaps we talking about a different set of circumstances than us normal civilians.

Look, I don't do client dinners, but when they involve 8 figure accounts, I make the exception. But we all must make time in advance to do what is right and what is expected. Like I said, Maybe next year they plan it better. My wife and I don't give a rats ass about our aniversary and we have a wonderful marriage. We celebrate our marriage many times thru the year and in the past have not been together on that day either due to travel, or one of the kids has something important. We might celebrate the month before on a great trip, or a week late at the beach house just chilling.

Vegas is a sleezy place, maybe Mrs. Eddy just wants to keep it in vegas!

The girlfriends I've had (at least the ones I enjoyed being with) have always wanted me to succeed at what I do. They'd want me to go to the training camp and probably feel guilty if I didn't go so I could celebrate with them something I could have celebrated a few days later.

Sorry Bonn, but now we know you don’t have a lady. You might as well have said your girlfriends breasts feel like bags of sand.

While comparing our own sacrifices we make for work vs. family, we should note how many of us have jobs that have us away from home and family for at least a full 1/4 of the year traveling to 14 different cities. How many of us are in a line of work that attracts easy women like flies, and where meeting at a strip club after a day of work is probably as common as meeting at the local watering hole is for us. If someone here does have that job, maybe they should post on the sacrifices their wives have made to make the relationship work year in and year out, and how said wife would feel if they skipped out on a week of family time for an event that is largely an excuse to hang out in Las Vegas.

In short, I’m with Bip. Nothing sets off this board like speculation on Eddy’s weight and conditioning. A bunch of old ladies at the park indeed.

Anyone up for a game of mahjong?

Once again, people are going bananas over stuff in the Newspapers. If Curry is really in shape, then who cares? It's called optional. He can do other things than work out with Aguirre.

Oh, and Mark Berman's wife beats him.

So I wouldn't trust his judgement when it comes to marital relations.

Like I said Solace, the amount of money you get paid should not make a difference. Family is #1 then work.

It's funny you say that, because we all know well and good that a large percentage of athletes wives are with the guy BECAUSE he was going to be a big star or rich. You have to support someone's career, not detract from it. They're both important, and everyone makes sacrifices. This is no different than someone starting up a business and working 90 hours a week for two years to get it going. If you have a supportive family, your spouse, kids, etc... understand and do what they can to assist. If you have an unsupportive family, you give up your dream, because they can't handle you working to improve yourself and career. What you're telling me is that having an unsupportive family is okay. It's not.

That being said, this is Eddy's choice. Eddy's choice is to go on a honeymoon THIS week instead of NEXT week. Fine. His priorities and his family's priorities are set. Like most he's in it for the money. Wonderful. He can be in it for the money on another team. That simple.

Some of you guys act like poor Eddy only gets 2 weeks of vacation time a year and he's being ripped for not taking time out from it.

His summer vacation is going to last 5 ****ing months!! Again!!

God forbid he take a week out of his busy vacation to do a little work with his teammates. In Vegas no less, not exactly Charleston.

Its not Eddy. Its his marriage. The anniversary doesn't span 5 months.

And anniversary doesn't span more than 1 day.

If they want to plan a trip for their anniversary, do it around one of the rare times in 5 months off that your employer, who gave you $60M when nobody else would, wants you to do a little work.
