I just want to see where the forum is now. To get Eddy and the Bulls' pick (23rd right now) and Antonio Davis, we gave up the 2nd pick in the 2006 draft, another likely lottery pick, 2 early 2nd round picks, and 2 expiring contracts. From the Knicks' perspective, the trade was

Man I hate having to defend islesfan, but what he means is a "shotblocker" is a guy who is in the other team's heads so they are wary of going into the paint. As oppossed to a guy who can block a shot or two because he's a tough one on one defender.

that's what you call an intimidator... like i asked previously, what other SF in the NBA fits that bill other than Josh Smith? i can't think of one.

You could argue that the trade gets better the deeper this draft gets. There are going to be so many good players that it really won't matter that we have the Bulls pick instead of our own. Especially considering that Isiah takes wild-card type players.

In some cases, Isiah just seems to out think himself.

you can not win in this league with specialists at 2 frontcourt positions. you need 2-way players. you have to have guys that can score AND defend. you can get away with one specialist in the frontcourt, but that's it.

???
Chicago won 6 championships that way. Detroit walked away with a championship like that 3 years ago.

Gerald Wallace

i'll give u AK47... Gerald Wallace isn't an intimidator, come on now... he blocks shots off weakside help just like Balkman does... Ty Thomas is more of a PF in my eyes

Tayshaun Prince

A shotblocker by definition is an intimidator.

Tayshaun Prince is not an intimidator... an intimidator is Alonzo Mourning, Shaq O'Neal, Dikembe Mutombo, Emeka Okafor, Ben Wallace, etc.

If someone is going in for a layup and they know Prince is on his tail, you don't think he's intimidated by Prince bearing down on him?

Here are a couple of examples:

In the case of him and Josh, you are what you can defend. both Ty and Josh can defend both front court positions and IMO his ability to handle the ball in the open court'll propel the 3 development just like Smith.

Wallace is a force in the paint whether you ee him coming or not. Injuries keep him from showing the full capabilities

I think Camby, Emeka, Howard and possibly Chandler, have to be listed as intimidators.

Brand and Duncan are missing from your lists as well.

No way. Those weren't oversights. Emeka and Howard can become intimidators but I don't think thet are there yet. They will join the list of guys being both.
