Mc Grady playing the best ball of his career????...In 2003 he averaged 32 pts 6.5 boards and 5.5 asst 1.7 steal...This is arguably his worst in the last 6 years

Is Steph having his best year? How are his stats compared to previous years? Numbers don't tell the whole story.

My problem with JVG isn't his ability as a coach. He deserted this team mid-season. That, to me, is unforgiveable. Why would anyone consider bringing him back?

JVG is a horrible, just a horrible coach....

Coming from the guy who would prolly be anti Red Holzman and Red Auerbach. JVG is a VERY GOOD coach and coaches outstanding defensive teams. He knows what he's doing.

With that said, what's the point in hiring him if he's be fired in a year, anyway???

I think JVG would be somewhere in the middle of Brown and Zeke at this point. Not weak on pushing his team on defense, but not like the way Brown did it in his only season. And enough public relations, to forget about Zeke if he's forced out. JVG was one of my favorite Knicks coach. I thought he was phenominal. As a matter of fact, the only two coaches I ever felt comfortable with was him and Pat Riley. Pat was a little too extreme, but man' did our old teams play some defense? Hell yeah and he too is available as a coach, isn't he? It seemed like soon after Marcus Camby NAILED JVG in the face, he just suddenly up and left. We seemed to be cursed ever since. I would not mind having JVG back on the sidelines again. But reality tells me that he would not want to miss coaching a Yao team either.
I'll never trust this' team again.

JVG would never work here.

He would bench Eddy when he doesnt jump for boards or lift his arms on D. Then he would be fired, and we would hear about how terrible he is. Then he would be replaced by someone lame, who would coach the team to 450 ball, and holfresh would go streaking down the ave yelling I TOLD THEM I TOLD THEM

I guess he would start DLee after he refuses to run out on three point shooters too, right..

Actually Lee has the work ethic needed to adapt and learn. Too bad Isiah is more interested in offense and chooses to "forget about" the constant defensive lapses. Isiah just wants to "move on".

Maybe Holfresh really is one of Isiah's spies.

>Mc Grady playing the best ball of his career?

Yes, his scoring is down a bit but even with the bad back he's playing a more complete game, IMO, than he was a few years ago. He does all the little things now and his team sense--making sure other players are in the game, making the extra pass, etc.--is much better. His back has slowed him down a bit but I'd still rather have the '07 McGrady than the '02(3,4,5) McGrady.

Dude. JVG in Brooklyn and Spike Lee ends up following the Nets. Can't have that.
