My thing is that this team has been making gradual progress. The year we went 16-13 and then fell off, you forget that we had injuries that year. It's not just that they stopped playing well for no reason. last year the same thing happened. But in both cases the team wasn't really that strong to begin with. This year we're WAY MORE able to withstand injuries. The way isiah is doing things it's not predicated on just a couple of guys. The team is actually buying into what he's preaching and unlike LB, Isiah's only agenda is to WIN!!! Who knows what the heck LB was doing, but he wasn't trying to win.

I just don't understand why there are so many fans that can't let go of the past and simply deal with this team as it is NOW. These players haven't done anything to give you a reason to be so negative. Even in losses they fought hard. As long as they keep working to improve I think they'll be fine. The season is long and i'm sure there will be ups and downs, but hopefully more ups :)

and the one's that do scream for losses are the most vocal...so it appeaes the entire board is anti knick (with 5 or 6 exceptions).

I have beed a reader since isiah arrived and the board today is basucally the aentiment of all knick fans.

we need more proof.

some people hate.

So do Martin and Andrew know that you're posting under a new name rvhoss?

Getting around your ban with a new screenname is one thing. Pretending that you're a new poster all together is just pathetic. But that's what we've come to expect from rv.

How is this the sad truth when so many of the people you guys accuse of rooting against the team all got together to cheer for the team last Wednesday and for the Atlanta game -- while, in the meantime, none of the so called true fans (except for Killa) showed up. Killa's the only one of you cats that repped.

The Knicks had a 6 game winning streak (Against elite teams too) last year and followed it up with a whoole bunch of losing streaks. What makes you think we should get excited about 2 blowout wins, one against a crappy wizards team, and one against a Shaqless Heat team. WE SHOULD be excited, but we need to be doing more of that.

And the reason I'm not excited, b/c like I've said a million times, this team spells mediocrity (28-40 wins). If the Knicks can consistently get winning streaks of 2 or 3 or 4, then I'll start getting happy about this team. But lets see how they handle all this. If they go on another losing streak, you know it's more of the same stuff.

I just don't trust this team, the way it's built. Can't stand having both Francis and Marbury and I can't stand Curry in general. One of the laziest players in the NBA. And I can't stand mediocrity, b/c it sugarcoats things that severely need to be exposed.

I agree with your whole post Allan, good post. The only that that really does excite me about this team though is the hard workers. Q/Lee/Craw/Nate/Balk.. these guys make it fun to watch the games again. I would love it if we could just find a way to get rid of Marbury/Francis/Curry and bring in some more hardworkers and I'd be ecstatic about this team.

We don't necessarily have to get too excited, but it certainly leaves one open to to possiblity that this may be a sign of "good," yet I find it difficult for anyone to suggest that the past two games are signs of "bad."

As for comparing to last year's 6 game win streak. There is little question that fans cannot help but recall such a moment during last year, however, the way Brown handled the roster and the reported negative vibe that existed under his reign as coach has to be taken into consideration as well. My take is that the 2 wins are generally a good sign, but certainly don't mean that the team is suddenly going to start dominating the league, or even winning more than they loose, either.

The potential for mediocrity at the sake of development of the team is different than mediocrity with little hope in such a regard. That's the difference, in my view, between how I felt as a fan under Layden and Isiah. Clearly there are many who post here and elsewhere who do not share my sentiments, although I know there are those that do, but I cannot say with any reasonable level of certainty what this team is going to be like by the end of the season, and I am a bit skeptical, to say the least, of anyone who claims to know what this team will be like by the end of the year, or years from now, when we have such a small sample this year to go with. We can certainly say that the past few seasons leads us to a believe that the team may not do well, but there are distinct differences between this year, and the last or the past few that I believe should be taken into consideration.

well considering i'm not in NYC or really near it for that matter, it is difficult to attend whenever i feel like it. but there is no denying the hate as exhibited on these forums. sure i may not like some of the moves or personnel, but i root for this team no matter what whereas some get their kicks out of just hating on the team.

Evil... well said. I paid my money to root on the fellas. I thought it was pretty funny how a lot of those you mentioned were MIA

Also who's caught up in disliking individuals? Our once proud franchise is running joke on every major sports website because of one guy. Is wanting him and his lousy decision making gone getting caught up?

I never stopped cheering for he Kniks when Layden was here but damn if I didnt wish the guy would get canned.

So the test of fanhood is whether you showed up at the garden to meet with UK guys? That's a pretty well thought out statement as usual.

It must of killed you and the rest of the anti-Isiah posse that the Knicks won. Maybe next get together you will catch a loss so you can indulge in your favorite pasttime of bashing Isiah and Marbury. Sorry you had to see that win. better luck next time.

So you would be calling guys like myself not a fan because I won't be at the next get together? Great call. I live in Buffalo. Guess you have to live in NYC to be a Knicks fan.

What exactly do people get out of calling out other fans, proclaiming that they're not really fans or lesser fans than they are?

Do you guys want a medal or something?

It's childish how people call eachother haters or homers or questioning their "Knick fan status." How about we all love the Knicks, see different ways for them to improve and all of our opinions are different, flat out.

I've said that a million times before but it never seems to matter. Certain posters get hardons calling other posters haters or LB Lovers, thats why it'll never stop.

Joe, are you talking to me or Evil? Becuase tEvil was suggesting that the "real fans' should have been at the game, not me. Go back and check.
