The Knicks had a 6 game winning streak (Against elite teams too) last year and followed it up with a whoole bunch of losing streaks. What makes you think we should get excited about 2 blowout wins, one against a crappy wizards team, and one against a Shaqless Heat team. WE SHOULD be excited, but we need to be doing more of that.
And the reason I'm not excited, b/c like I've said a million times, this team spells mediocrity (28-40 wins). If the Knicks can consistently get winning streaks of 2 or 3 or 4, then I'll start getting happy about this team. But lets see how they handle all this. If they go on another losing streak, you know it's more of the same stuff.
I just don't trust this team, the way it's built. Can't stand having both Francis and Marbury and I can't stand Curry in general. One of the laziest players in the NBA. And I can't stand mediocrity, b/c it sugarcoats things that severely need to be exposed.
We don't necessarily have to get too excited, but it certainly leaves one open to to possiblity that this may be a sign of "good," yet I find it difficult for anyone to suggest that the past two games are signs of "bad."
As for comparing to last year's 6 game win streak. There is little question that fans cannot help but recall such a moment during last year, however, the way Brown handled the roster and the reported negative vibe that existed under his reign as coach has to be taken into consideration as well. My take is that the 2 wins are generally a good sign, but certainly don't mean that the team is suddenly going to start dominating the league, or even winning more than they loose, either.
The potential for mediocrity at the sake of development of the team is different than mediocrity with little hope in such a regard. That's the difference, in my view, between how I felt as a fan under Layden and Isiah. Clearly there are many who post here and elsewhere who do not share my sentiments, although I know there are those that do, but I cannot say with any reasonable level of certainty what this team is going to be like by the end of the season, and I am a bit skeptical, to say the least, of anyone who claims to know what this team will be like by the end of the year, or years from now, when we have such a small sample this year to go with. We can certainly say that the past few seasons leads us to a believe that the team may not do well, but there are distinct differences between this year, and the last or the past few that I believe should be taken into consideration.
