I think signing Jeffries was a good move. The knicks could actually put 5 guys on the floor who were 6'7" or taller and not have them out of position. If Isiah played Rose at the point, Jeffries at the two .... the Knicks would have a ton of mismatches. I am sure that they would struggle on defense some but still it is fun to think about.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

JoeC - all the playuers you listed as 6'5 "power players" played a decade ago.

Welcome to 2006 and a new set of matchup problems

Bonzi is so obsolete it ain't even funny

I almost agree with that one. either you are small and you are super quick and elusive with the ball and have great penetrating skills, or you are tall and long.. bonzi is neither.. he needs the ball to be a factor, to me he is one of those obsolete players.. I never cared for the fool..

JoeC - read my lips. the days of under 6'6 forwards are over. There are too many problemmatic matchups to consider.

I don't like Bonzi Wells and his baggage on my beloved Knicks.

In your opinion. Richard Jefferson is 6-7. Carter is like 6-6. Pierce is 6-6 and plays SF and SG. Both can play small forward and are not much bigger than the guys I am talking about. Stackhouse is 6-6, plays SF. Rod Carney is 6-7 at SF he was drafted 19. Hell, Isiah drafted a 6-6 Renaldo Balkman and said he was our SF of the future!

yea, but bonzi is 6'4 and his game is not like these guys. bonzi game is based on overpowering forwards, that is becomming harder to do with bigger and longer SF's... Vince and RJ are quick slashers and finishers who run the floor like deer and play way above the rim. Carney supposedly is a similar player to these guys. Pierce is just a all around offensive beast, can beat you 100 ways.. Balkman is a runner and finisher, uses quickness, great leaping ability, and a endless motor...

bonzi fits none of these descriptions... Bonzi needs the ball in his hands, to use his big rear end to backdown opposing forwards.... We don't need that....

This is a good move. What will define Isiah's term will be how he gets rid of all the old/overpaid guys.

So Isiah's defining moments will be getting rid of the guys he brought in? What's next? Ketchup flavored popcorn? Will he take down the undustry--Magic will get him into all of the theatres! It will break loose in China, and then morph into Mcdonalds. Then he will just kick Dolan's arse out and take over CVC. POP!

Bonzi is a thick SF/SG who is more well rounded than any guys we have. Offense, defense, he rebounds and he has a mean streak. I agree that he needs a strong leader to be on whatever team he goes to-be it a coach or a player. I like Bonzi because of his well rounded game where we seem to have one dimensional players, and hoping they develop. How about actually getting a 2 way player we know will be good.

I am not denying any baggage, but apparently Isiah is very comfortable taking on these types of guys (Marbury, Rose, Francis, Miles, Curry...), so let him go for it.

I'm just glad that the Knicks now have an adept pillar. It's nice to have a pillar, but an adept pillar . . . Ahhhhh!
