Once again for all the blind: It would be perfectly okay and I would be 100% on board with you if the team played hard. If the team busted their asses and won 23 games I would not criticize them at all. Their can be excuses for lack of performance. Not knowing your role, inconsistent minutes and not liking your coach can affect your production. But it should never affect your desire to acheive, your will to win and your out and out hard play. Our team quit. I can not be like the "real fans" and excuse them for this no matter what the reasons are. Play poorly and I will sympathize with you and wish for better times. Quit on me and you will not be applauded.

Bonn and the rest of the "true fans", stop settling and force your team to give you the effort that the Oakley's and Starks' and Ewings made us love.

I watched the games and I felt the team played hard when they are being used consistently, then suddenly during a game, they were all used herky jerky.

Best example...Golden State early in the season.

The rookies brought us back from oblivion, then suddenly, they were on the bench and we lost.

Over the course of the year it just becomes obvious that winning this year just isn't in the cards...I've been on losing teams and there is no way for every single person on the team to keep giving 100%.

I believe that marbury gave 110% every game with the exception of the orlando "statement" game.

The rest of the season when larry was saying he lost some players, Marbs was on injured.

i have to disagree with the sentiment that marbury, and for that matter most of the knicks, quit.

I think the coach quit coaching and the players followed his lead.

I remember the Celtic game late in the season when DLee was tomohawk jamming and running the floor...I remember crawford's game winners and Nate besting iverson.

Marbury was injured...so if being injured is quitting, then so be it. But MoT, Francis, Jrose, etc...if they quit, then it's because their coach quit.

They must have known the coach with the "juice card" was going to head into the GM and owners offices and DEMAND they be released or traded...would you give that particular coach your all?

Oh, well, some of you would, but a millionaire bball player who's salary is dependent on his health is not going to go balls to the wall for a coach that doesn't believe in them.

but that's just MHO.

Oh, back to the thread...i would play for larry brown.

My work ethic is made for a demanding boss...it keeps me on my toes.

But I'm pretty sure my team would lose a bunch of games if it wasn't already a championship contender.

I'd rather play for Pat Riley or Phil Jackson.

They have a way for finding roles for the stars (ewing, jordan, kobe, shaq) and the role players (starks, mason, haslem, robert horry, derek fisher, steve kerr).

They don't just give up on players they don't see eye to eye with...they believe in the team and coach the team.

You honestly think your team played hard last year? This is what I call settling.
