Ignoring what went out the door for MoT's contract is also funny.
Everything is one sided in the world of the UKHC.

We sent out a few useless players and cleared a roster spot.

if we did hte same thing with francis or JJ it'd be met with the same isiah effed up mantra.

Mo taylor is expiring this year.

Next.

What 50mm $ down the drain in salary and luxury taxes? The answer to that brutal mistake is no biggie? LOL

Let me see, trading one spoiled egg for three is good business? We couldve traded humpty dumpty, it was a brutal trade that made no sense and cost the knicks 50$MM

this is the same team that won 23 games sam cluster fckd roster to many guys will want time causing chemistry problems it will be a revolving door roster no star no leader no winners

Because of guaranteed contracts and the salary cap, this is the hardest pro league to turn around a franchise.

It is not as easy as you think.

When was the last time Boston was in a division final? Washington? Seattle?

You have watched the windows of opportunity for the NETS, SIXERS, KINGS, JAZZ and PACERS slowly open and shut over the past ten years now haven't you?

Many of these teams had no salary cap space issues to contend with and good veteran front office personnel in place and still just making the division finals has been elusive.

Get rid of guaranteed contracts and the JEROME JAMES of the NBA world would disappear and building a winner could be done in two seasons just like in the NFL and not take more than a decade to rebound from two or three bad contract signings.

Every sport must endure the inevitable bad signings. But baseball has no cap and the NFL does not guarantee anyone's contract. So you suck ...You're fired!

Not the case in the NBA.

We are still paying JYD's and AH's contracts to date. That's freakin' ridiculous, but it is a fact.

what I say

The Knicks will be respectably better in the win column and play inspired basketball in 07

Excellent post. I do agree about the stupidity of guaranted contracts, since it leads a lot of players to stop working hard and improve. They don't deserver their salary, they shouldn't get it. One thing though is that you mentionned AH in your post, and though I was more of a spree or starks kind of guy, I'd like to add a small nuance on that amtter since, Houston worked hard, but got hurt. Did he deserve the BIG contract ? hell no, but he was given it, so fault is from management of these days. but once he's hurt while working, I'd understand that a player would be protected and not loose everything cause he jumped into the stands to get a loosbe ball to win a game.

what do you think ?

I don't care about the number of wins at all - 23, 33, 43, 53...
Doesn't matter.
I want to see the games in NY when players are playing wire-to-wire with the desire to win.
To win in NBA each player on the team should give it all - on offence and on defense.
There are no miracles. Not even Kobes and Labrons will give you a consistent winner without all players on a tea working hard and determined to win.
From Isaiah I want to see a system on defense and offence. I don’t care if it will give wins or loses at first. The team should follow the system game by game and if the system is not working the Couch/GM should go.
I don't care about the personal stats for Marbs, Francis, Curry, Fry, Lee, etc. The start has no meaning if players are not following the system and team is not winning games.
I want to see the trend this season - that this team gets a style, a grip, a face...
It Knicks will start getting there I will consider it a progress.

The BIG thing this year will be to see a team identity developed. I think this will be Isiah's biggest contribution to the way this team plays. You'll be able to finally say about the Knicks "this is their style of play" "this is what they're known for". EFFORT will be the biggest thing to improve this year. The players will be FAR more confident in what they're doing on BOTH sides of the floor. NO more changing plays all the time, lineups, roles etc. Barring any really unfortunate injury.

We should see a more conhesive team and one that plays with a clear sense of purpose from 1-12. I can't wait to see this team really play like a pro team for a change.
