killla4 - Larry was a cancer in the locker room. The game passed him by faster than the E Train at rush hour.

I don't care if a rookie or vets talks. It comes with the territory.

If they didn't talk they would be skewered for being dumb or not caring enough to speak up.I like Frye, Nate AND especially David Lee. They are entitled to talk.

I dn't know what the problem is - other than their opinion differs from the LBDL - Loyal Brown Defenders League.

Hit the open man

man, i dont understand why some are blaming the rookies forspeaking their minds, they are the ones who saw 1st hand what happened last year and if they are willing to talk, let them talk

Let me help you, they are blaming the rookies for speaking their minds because they are exposing the savior and messiah, Larry Brown. I can assure if they said negtive things about Steph or Isiah, they would never have any problems at all with it. Thats what I can't stand about them. They change their arguments to fit a desired conclusion, and apply wildly different standards to guys they like vs. ones they don't like. Zeke has to win 50 games and 2nd round of the playoffs or its a failure. LOL!

I find it funny how now the LB supporters, who hate the players and Isiah, want us to think that this team MUST be .500 or better just because the players are saying LB confused them and mismanaged them into 23 wins. Well for one thing lets go back and think for a minute. This team was never expected to just come bursting out of the gates last year. We ALL expected a slow start but that the team would show progress and eventually get it together. We had 8 NEW PLAYERS and a lot of young players, so its not like Isiah was touting this team as a title contender. All LB had to do was show progress with the team and instead the team regressed.

Don't now try to make this about the players saying things so now they have to prove how great they are. LB never allowed this team to go thru its NATURAL progression. Now you guys want the team to prove something and you seem to have some anger at the players which I can't understand. MOST of the guys on this team didn't do anything to deserve the kind of hatred that some of you are showing for them. You've TOTALLY bought into the LB propaganda. Just listen to these kids talk and you can tell that none of them are a problem child or selfish. All they did last year was try hard to do what LB wanted, so don't hand us this crap now just because they are speaking the TRUTH.

Do you guys want this team to succeed or fail so you can talk crap. That's what I want to know.

Now guys want to bash Frye and Lee. LOL!!! Its comical.

Isles, you are missing the point, this wasn't about minutes per game, its aboutt having a clearly defined role, that doesn't change in conflicting ways from day to day and having 'good play' get rewarded with playing time.

I love how everything that goes against Brown is a secret Dolan ploy. So you think they really knew their roles, but are jsut saying this for Dolan? yeah, Frye really seems like that kind of guy, and so does Lee.

These guys have guaranteed contracts, and they are grown mean, they can simply say no comment.

ROFL!!!!

BTW, Frye didn't bash him at all, if you heard the audio you can see he was reserved in his criticism of LB, just overjoyed at the idea of working for a sane coach.

What's comical is everyone, even LB supporters, say Larry did a crappy job, and you act like everyone is saying he did a great job.
What's comical is that some people take a cop-out, admitting he did a crappy job but then thinking he should not have been fired!

Oh sure....Indy, Detroit, SA, and Philly should all have fired him after one year, I mean you know how normal a one and done coaching stint is. Oh, wait, that usually only happens with Isiah as the GM!

He may have had poor records there in year 1 (I don't even remember) but he didn't do a poor job. He didn't handle things with the highest imaginable degree of insanity and senility there, be it player rotations, relations with players, or media statements.

Bonn, this type of arguement doesn't make sense to me. In the first sentence you are not even sure if in year 1 LB has a bad track records but state with certainty that you know how he handled each of his teams in those same year 1 seasons.

No- brown came with a reputation of having slow first years in terms of wins. I don't recall any article bringing up a reputation for dysfunctional first years. Now, part of this might be NYC being the media magnifier that it is- perhaps he pulled this crud elsewhere and with less press, it never was the issue it was here...

Brown pulled alot of this same crap...the changing plays-SAS said he did it everywhere. He wanted all his stars traded from Robinson to Iverson. Billy King had to tell him we are not trading Iverson, make it work. King also had Brown's back. He was exactly the same on Iverson and Billiups as he was on Steph and STILL they both sought out Steph-Billiups told him to listen to Larry-I use this as an EXAMPLE of Larry's past players and how they feel about him. Iverson seeked out Nate(I think) and told him "Listen to that man".

Noone is saying Larry is flawless, though.

Its funny how last season a bunch of these crybabies tried to twist the meaning of a Frye's statement into something derogatory about Steph. Now that he has spoken out about the madness that was LB last year, guys are outraged, and indignant. LOL!! Could this get any crazier?!?!

They like to say "we all admit Larry sucked"...........but when a rookie brings to light exactly what it is he did that sucked, it makes you get your panties in a bunch???? Its called denial. You don't admit it, and thats why your collective faces must be rubbed in it.

Theres always a new different reason why they are outraged.

LBlovers: Well the rookies should be saying it.

Knicksfans: But Malik Rose said it too.

LBlovers: Well when has he won anything?

Knickfans: Huh? LOL! He has several rings and is very well respected around the league.

LBlovers: I don't like the back and forth in the media tho.

Knickfans: [dies from a laughter-induced respitory failure. Later has open-casket with permanent smile affixed to face.]

Why is it that everything has to be about LB? Move on. This is about the Knicks and what we need to do to be successful. We won 23 games last year. From all opinions the reason we won 23 games is because of LB. So now LB is gone. Now things are back to normal. Now they can just concentrate on playing basketball. If that's the case, that's what I want to see. LB is gone now, that should mean there is no more whining in the media, or complaining about roles right? That's my expectation. rv - i'm no more lost than you are.

my problem is why these things are being said now. lb is gone. the players said their piece in the exit interviews and he's gone b/c of it. so when asked about lb, they should just say something like "no comment or we moved on". but they didn't. they continued to push the "lb was the reason we lost last year" mantra. dolan, isiah, and now all the players are saying it. so they're completely holding lb accountable for everything and themselves for nothing.

alot of you think this is ok and some feel vindicated. to that i say "puh-leaze". is this some sort of war of words or "who's right and who's wrong?". just like when dolan said isiah has one year and gave him the ultimatum on tv. like that's supposed to mean anything.

when will they stop with all this bravado and he said/she said crap and concentrate on what's best for the team and the franchise? that's what i'm upset about.

Frye, Nate and Lee said yesterday what most of us who dislike Brown were saying all season. Do you think myself and the other posters here who dislike Brown are part of the Cablevision conspiracy, or do you think that maybe this is what we're actually seeing and that this is valid. Lee said what I've said all along - if you don't give people clear roles, they are going to struggle.

If you don't think LB is responsible for last season, fine. But I think you should answer as to whether you would have given him credit if it went well.

Oh really? No such thing as an objective look? Are you serious? That explains alot.

2 objective, nonsubjective-undistorted by emotion or personal bias; based on observable phenomena; "an objective appraisal"; "objective evidence"

3 objective-emphasizing or expressing things as perceived without distortion of personal feelings or interpretation; "objective art"

This franchise has been nothing but excuse after excuse for everyone thats played here the last 5 years. Since when is having fun a key requisite? Learn to win in the league first, then have some fun playing the game. The laid back, your a star, go have a good time approach produces guys like Steve Francis. Lots of flash and no substance, unless you count something other than winning basketball games substance.

I've had guys like that come on my baseball team. They just want to fart around and have a good time. There's a league for that, its call slow pitch softball. If your not going to show up in shape and ready and able to contribute go play in a coed pickup game. To me nothing is more "fun" than working hard and seeing that work translate on the field. Winning is fun

Whats the excuse going to be this year? Too many players? Lame duck coach? Fat guys getting injured and messing up the line ups?

I'm GLAD Channing showed up beefed to 260. Hopefully the rookies and sophmores and be big contributors. Wanna know what will really make me excited this year? If Curry shows up weighing 260-270 instead of the 300 he played at last year.

This has almost nothing to do with effort. This is about leadership. Brown demonstrated absolutely zero last year. From the jump, he created an antagonistic atmosphere - i.e. benched Jamal on opening night without telling him after starting him all through pre-season, started calling out players left and right, didn't play Frye on opening night. This is a young team, encouragement, leadership, defining roles, setting a rotation are all imperative. Brown did a horrible job as a coach and then demanded panic moves after his hated Marbury went down (aka the only player who could orchestrate wins in spite of Brown) for at the very least Jalen Rose, and probably had some involvement in the Francis deal...

Brown did a horrible job and he was clearly angling for roster control and quite probably Isiah's job as well. He had to think he had the upper hand with the longer contract and superior reputation.

Nate Robinson's behavior and play has NOTHING, repeat nothingwhatsoever to do with a lack of effort. That guy played 100% effort every single minute he was on the floor. And because he couldn't rip his effort, he ripped his exuberance. Brown's performance here (on the job and his daily soap opera moaning in front of media) was a sick joke. Yet people still rush to his defense, citing past performance. Except his last three jobs have all been embarassments (fired from Detroit for interviewing with another organization during playoffs, embarassed at Olympics, embarassed all of New York).

Next season doesn't have to be about wins and losses, I just want to believe this team can build something out of all this talent again. I believe that will come back and that the wins will come out of that. If you think effort is the problem - why disparage Nate Robinson? why bench David Lee? why not make examples of them as guys who play all out every night? Are you seriously going to tell me that Ariza was not in shape and didn't give effort? Brown is a joke.

Once again, Larry should have started Lee at SF and Frye at PF. Why he didn't, I don't know. I heard he sat Frye because he didn't like his defense and the same for Lee. I'll never know.

Last season, I thought our starting lineup should have been:

Curry
Frye
Lee
Q
Marbury

-Late in the season, I though Curry should have been benched and the PF/C combo should have been Butler and Frye-whatever position you want them to be in.

What the Lee and Frye said, it is nothing we haven't heard about Larry before. He's very eccentric. I wish they just said no comment, but they didn't and that is fine, but they should move past Larry.

Nate is a whole different story. He is the most impressionable of the group(see the no shooting game soon after Steph did it) and he should have been at Brown's feet because Brown coached a guard EXACTLY like him in Iverson. When he says he is listening to "people in his corner" instead of the coach that seems a problem for me.

crzymdups - what you said

>>Nate Robinson's behavior and play has NOTHING, repeat nothingwhatsoever to do with a lack of effort. That guy played 100% effort every single minute he was on the floor. And because he couldn't rip his effort, he ripped his exuberance

I like Nate and so did many others appreaciate his energy and toughness. How many times did he attack the rim? How many putbacks in traffic?

>>Next season doesn't have to be about wins and losses, I just want to believe this team can build something out of all this talent again. I believe that will come back and that the wins will come out of that.

This team needs The Garden back on its side. Once they show passion, the passion will return in support.

>>If you think effort is the problem - why disparage Nate Robinson? why bench David Lee?

That's exactly what I was trying to understand.

There are few players that went out all out this year (but not one player that went all out consistently).
Nate, Lee, Frye, Craw, Q were the guys I saw that came out to play. But they all did coast at one points. Also, noone on this team exhibited any leadership.

Yeah but those guys aren't the WHOLE team. We had a LOT of young players with very little experience and now we have even more. So it was up to LB to be the one to make things easier for them to be successful. Instead he made it harder and they didn't get everything out of last year that they should. I'm saying that last year wasn't all about win totals. It was also about development and at least showing a steady progression as the year went along. It was about establishing a culture of how this team plays. This way they could actually BUILD upon a good foundation. BUT LB NEVER DID establish anything!!!! SO i'm not going to judge this team NOW solely on the number of wins, but how they play.

We have a much better CHANCE to win games without all the LB CRAP. And for those who keep mentioning how LB did things in the past PLEASE STOP! He NEVER did the things he did last year ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Sure he's been guilty of doing all of those things at some point during every stop, but he took it to NEW LEVELS last year. He did things that just defied logic and even his best friends admit they don't know what he was thinking. SO lets cut the crap about his way working. Last year WAS NOT LARRY'S WAY. That was some other mess he was on.

Hey man that just seems too logical for the diciples of BROWNINTOLOGY to understand.

There are few players that went out all out this year (but not one player that went all out consistently).
Nate, Lee, Frye, Craw, Q were the guys I saw that came out to play. But they all did coast at one points. Also, noone on this team exhibited any leadership.

Starts with the coach he was leading the team to nowhere.

Can't argue that Larry didn't lead this team either, however long term it's debateable.
