Ummmm...I would have to say yes & no. No if we have to give up anybody like Marbury, Francis or Jalen. KMart is damaged goods. His trade value stinks. Trading any of those players would be overpaying for him. If Isiah does go after him (I would not) he should offer someone that is dispensable, i.e. Malik Rose, etc. I don't know how the salaries would match up but I wouldn't do it for any of our key players. So TMS I'm a maybe as well. Also to note, I think KMart is dumb as a door nail when it comes to basketball IQ. He has no post moves. He's good at one thing, dunking the ball. We need a solid defender - I know he defends, but he's no stopper. And secondly, I agree with the other threads I've read, shouldn't the KNICKS be tired of taking chances on these injury prone players (and paying top dollar/giving up a lot) only to have it blow up in their faces! When has it ever played in our favor? They've mostly been duds! People like VBaker, McDyess, now you can add Curry to that list & even LJ. Don't ride me for the LJ throw in. Believe me, I loved LJ but he was a shell of himself when he was here! Well, he probably shouldn't be included becuase even as a shell he played with more heart and character than any of the scrubs we currently have playing who aren't injured. Okay, LJ doesn't count but you get my point.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

so basically, you're a NO, cuz we're not getting him for Jerome James, as disappointing as that may be to some of you.

at this point I wouldnt trade Jerome James or anyone else for KMart. He's NOT a team player. He's an arsehole. Cursing in front of the kid from make a wish. I wonder if that was part of his wish. Remember he was mocking Zo when his life threatening kidney problem flared up? Arguing w/ the coach during a playoff game about sub patterns? Is there a worse person we could add?

yeah yeah yeah... John Starks was a bonehead too... he headbutted Reggie Miller & broke his nose... he was my favorite Knick of alltime... bring KMart here & i guarantee he'd be a breath of fresh air... teach some of these gutless, no heart having players we currently have how to play w/some fire & intensity... the only other player like that we have right now is Nate, & you all can see how pumped the garden gets when he gets it going... KMart would be the same way.

He hasnt had that same fire and intensity that made him an unique player ever since he left New Jersey. Maybe coming back to the area might reenergize him but who knows?

we should not trade for k-mart. injuries + salary + attitude + declined play after traded from NJ, makes him an even bigger risk than trading for marbury was. and even that trade didnt turn out particularly well.

just like everyother bumb we brought in and hoped they change...it's too late...I'd rather stake my future on Curry and frye and butler than a banged up malcontent.

Yes, I know alot of you hate the idea of taking the risk on damaged goods... let's not debate the issue again on this thread... i just want to see who's in favor of trading Mo T, Malik or Steve Francis for KMart next year... you all know where i stand on this issue... anyone else with me?

Before I would commit to another deal, like this one, the kind we have been doing for the last several years, I would first ask myself 'what if we waited a few years to see what our options are'? So what are' our options for the next couple of years? Would it be better to pass and wait for something much better to come around. We never plan for the future. We're doing it again. We're looking for the quick fix again, the killer of all Knick better near future deals. Will we always settle for the KMart like deals and pass on the possible LeBron deals for the rest of our times? If I were everyone, I would step aside and think about it in from that perspective first.
I'll never trust this' team again.

to be fair, i've wanted KMart to be a Knick since he came out of college... this isn't the flavor of the month for me... but i totally understand anyone who has misgivings.

Being a bonehead and being a locker room cancer is a different story. I loved Starks, Oakley, Mason, Spree, Childs, etc, etc. Some might call them boneheads, but they were warriors. KMart was one in NJ playing with Kidd, but his knee injury turned him into a diferent player. We don't need another overpaid, damaged, unhappy player on this team.

No. Houston, LJ, McDyess. Enough already.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Marbury
Mo T & Malik
Steve Francis

put me down as a NO. we have to end this madness of rolling the dice on injured head cases. if we get k-mart, it gives us five more years of the same.

no unless we get a boatload of draftpicks
''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''
