You know what you guys need to do...Catch the games form the 70's on NBA TV and we will talk again...

today's game is watered down.. c'mon, the players may be more atheltic but most of them lack the fundamentals.. they making millions as opposed to the players from the past..

back then, most of the players played with passion and effort @ all times.. as of now, you get a huge contract for millions and don't give a damn..

back then it was more about team then today... When you look @ the Spurs of today, back then you had several teams in the league playing in that level... 70's you had bitter rivals going @ it, thats whta made it fun.. knicks, celtics, wizards formerly bullets, bucks in the east.. In the west you had seattle, lakers, dallas

Going back to MArbury, he still sucks and guaranteed he gets traded during the offseason..

Seriously not true...trust me...I used to agrue the point of the game in the 70s was so much better than today's game until I saw those same game today....Some guards of yesterday would not be able to bring the ball up the court in today's game...Lots of those guys had no handle....

Fundamentals, there were huge passing lanes, bounce passes, back door plays...please jsut watch a few games....There were player coaches back then....Do you think those guys worked out year round like today's athletes...In the 60s guys had other jobs....

ok?

end of discussion.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

LMAO...the Big O never faced players the caliber of Grant Hill and Lebron...MY GOD!!!

ROFL...Bill Russell is nothing like Ben Wallace

you have absolutely NO respect for the history and heritage of this game.

No No No...Not true..I have too much respect for the game not to clarify myself...The game today is alot different...The game today is played above the rim versus the way it was played yest...My Ben Wallace reference refers to the physical speciment you have to be today to play center at 6 feet 9 inches....The athelete of today is far more explosive than those of yesteryear...Defense meant something different yesterday..But Nuff repect to yesterday's players but it's a different brand of ball....

true, it was a different era but i am not sure if the players today can do well back then either. your right that it wasn't above the rim but they were a lot more physical. the refs blew the whistle if there was straight mugging. the rules today cater to the finesse players. if someone tried to dunk back then they get knocked down. chamberlain, russell or reed weren't having that. as far as marbury goes, we are not comparing him to the whole nba. he proclaimed to be the best point guard so he exhibited himself for criticism. he has been in the league for 9 years and all he thinks about is stats. that is why he constantly breaks out of plays and just rebel. i never thought i would say this but he needs to be traded asap. it might kill his career and i would love to see him succeed but it is time to move on and let francis take the keys for awhile.

Thats all fine and good but just one thing...How do you know that Marbs is only concerned about stats....How can you tell this by watching the game...Is it because some beat writer says this..How do you know Marbs breaks out of plays, do you know what the plays are? I ask these questions because I watch the same games and don't see what you guys are seeing...I hear he is a shoot first guard..there is a fine line between being a shoot first guard and the first option scoring on a team...Marbs is the first option yes? yeah maybe or maybe it's Curry, well Brown has not define those roles yet, it's only the end of the season...But Marbs is a stat first guy and only takes 13 shots a game....Doesn't make sense...So tell me where do you get your information from?

I'm not trying to be a wise arse...i just need to know what am missing...honestly I'm not seeing it, but everyone keeps saying it...So please educate me....

^Actually even after Steph only took one shot in Orlando, I STILL thought he was a stat guy who was just pissed off.

Once again...the same way everyone who is anti-LB is sure he is coaching to lose. If it is valid to say LB is coaching to get rid of Zeke, or losing on purpose to show the flaws of this team and get his players in, it is also valid to say a career stat guy is not playing to at the very least his potential because he wants to get the coach fired and after being Zeke's little pet for 18 months he feels it is his team and untouchable?

It's very hard to argue unquantifiables on both sides.

I have reason for this...like the fact the Knicks don't have a set lineup in a full season of games, like when a player get hot he benches them, like he starts guys because of their home towns, like Frye was having a great year then he inexplicably benched him the later we heard frye hit the wall, like Q2 not getting minutes after he have monster games, like how he complained about the roster and he took the job after the roster was assembled...I think Curry was the final piece...After nate has a good game, it shows up in the newspaper that Nate was almost optioned to the NBDL but saved by Iaiah...So I have my reasons...Whats yours...come on, it can't be that hard?

Even the Knick announcers are questioning him about Curry's playing time about substitutions, about a steady lineups...I can go on...

Come on Joe, how can you tell Marbs is a shoot first guard, it can't be this hard...

Bro, it ain't hard at all but you really should be less defensive and confrontational when discussing youself....I mean your boy Marbury...

Not one player has established himself as a starter on this team. This season, not even Steph. Noone stands out and above the rest of his position at all. It's like having a roster full of 6th men. WOuld I have liked to have a set roster? Sure, but I want to be sure these are my best players. We don't have best players, we have players that are better than other players in certain areas and worse in others.

From the begining Larry said that defense is gonna determine minutes. Great Q2 has a monster game. And his man has a monster game. As Larry said all year, No defense=no playing time. is it really that hard to understand?

It's like having a pitching rotation of like 5 #3's instead of having an ace, a #2, a #3....Our starters aren't as good as other teams starters but our bench from 8 on down is probably better than most team 8, 9, 10, 11, 12th men.

It's simple and I have had this fear since last season when we had the 3 picks and we were constantly picking up young players who needed time to develop.

We are now the Clippers-east. We have too much young talent not enough time to develop it.

I'm not being defensive or confrontation...really joe to be honest..I jsut trying to get you to stop believeing what you read ffom people with agendas and start watching the games and evaluate them on your own..You guys are treating this like a presidential debate where you have to wait for the commentators after the debate to give you your opinion..

These are the facts...Marbs is an offensive minded guard..he is also the best player on the team...He has been the only consistant guy all year...He is not the type of guy that will carry you on his back..He is not the leader you are looking for...the last leader in the NBA left with Jordan....There are no leaders in the game today...Stop trying to ask Steph to do things that no one else does in the game today...It's not fair...Stand on your own feet and stop letting others make your opinions for you...

Bro you are walking the slippery slope between hard headed and ignorant when you start calling people out. The only one holding anyone to any double standard is you. Q is having a horrible season, get rid of him. Steph is having a bad season but give him a pass. Q is having a bad season, he sucks. Steph is having a bad season, it's Larry's fault. You can believe what you want about how I form my opinions bro, but you got a hell of a set of onions on you to crap on everyone else's posts but try to hold yours up as gospel. These posts are just your opinions, however misguided they may be. I think the only one who is letting what anyone of the media writes is you. You seem to hold this don't listen to the media belief so tight that no matter what they say, you have to hold to the exact opposite of what is being reported by SEVERAL media outlets, some as credible as the New York Times. Hey if that is your whole MO, being devil's advocate cool. If you just want to say what you say so you are not percieved as letting the media influence you, that's cool too, just let us know so we know this isn't a free exchange of ideas that will have an actual conclusion to it, and we don't waste our time trying to talk to you about it

May I suggest we all chip in and get hol a manners class or a social interaction class?

^That's the case, cool, no harm no foul...piece of advice......no disrepect intended, some sarcasm doesn't translate well in a posting forum.

Bro I gotta say I admire your dedication to Steph, and I gotta ask...where does all this love for him come from?

I've been wanting this guy on the Knicks since he was drafted...But thats the way I am bro...I am a conspiracy type guy..I always think people have agendas until proved otherwise....So I only believe what I see..hehehe...no worries bro...really wasn't trying to get you riled up...
