the effort level sucks, but are you gonna deny we're short-handed. Injuries aren't an excuse for the elite teams, but for middle of the pack teams they determine the season.

You think Houston would be 20-30 with Yao and Tmac playing every game? I seem to recall you said they'd be the best team in the NBA this year.

we got beat by the New Orleans' Hornets w/o Chris Paul... nuff said... this team stinks.

where was Marbury that game, I forget? look, this team is down right now and has forgotten how to win. scoff all you want, but the heart of this team is all young guys and they need a leader. I'm sorry if you think that's an excuse.

you guys, well Briggs and a few others, have accused me of being a cry baby, complaining about injuries, but you guys are being freaking ridiculous. what did you expect without a healthy Marbury for 15 games? did you really buy all that ESPN crap that he was a selfish shoot first guard? gimmeabreak.

what was the Knicks record when Marbury was healthy? to hear you talk you make it seem as if Marbury's gonna come back & all will be hunky dory in Knicksland again... are you watching the same games i'm watching? this team stinks, with or without Marbury.

In just his 2nd season, Ridnour started point and played 31 mpg on a 50 win division winning team last season. Can Marbury say that?

how many elite players, outside of maybe shaq, can say that?

Duncan?

exactly, not many. so the point is, whats the big deal if marbury wasnt on a 50win division leading team in his 2nd year, neither was garnett. just another weak argument by mck1.

read the thread. I made no argument here. Ridnour was brought up by someone else who feels saying Ridnour is trash makes him feel better about the NY being a sad 76-103 since the Marbury trade.

I ask you again if a division title is too high a bar to set for the self procalaimed best point guard in the leage, how about 1 50 win season in 9? Once again you will have no answer and look for a crack to insult me through. Just don't take the c-dups route and say silly **** like the man who was 3rd in minutes played, 1st in assists, 3rd in scoring and 1st in steals on Seattle was a Q-Richardson like 5th wheel.

Luke was putting up 10 and 6 and playing with 2 all stars, Whats your point?

Jerome James started on that team too. LOL! Luke must be the truth.

Eric Snow can make that same claim, AND his team went to the finals, AND he put up 10 and 8, AND he played 34 minutes per game. So did Snow lead his team because he was the PG?

already addressed this. crzydups tried the same lame argument. read the entire thread.

Snow was a leader on that team. Snow was an integral part of that team. They don't win 50 or the division or the East without Eric Snow. I know that is a hard concept to grasp seeing as how he can't do 4 crossovers in under 10 seconds and launch a fall-away 3 pointer like Jamal Crawford but the meat and potato glue guys do play a vital role in teams winning games in the NBA.

it wasn't meant to be. crzydups has some serious disassociation issues. 1 mention of NY losing yet again and he goes off on a tangent.

crzy what would you be saying if Layden brought these guys together?

I would be fine to see where the young guys went. What exactly do you want to do? Trade Frye for Kmart, have Kmart's knee blowout and be in the McDyess situation all over again except Kmart's contract is much worse?

I'm fine waiting around for young guys to learn how to play. These guys have plenty of promise, if they didn't why was Indiana willing to trade Artest for Frye? Denver would do Kmart for Frye. Lakers would do Odom for Frye. Frye is cheaper than all those guys and possibly better.

When Layden was here, there was no future whatsoever, we were able to tread water with a bunch of aging vets. We stayed in a lot of games because of Allan Houston's efficient scoring, the same way Seattle does with Ray Allen.

My argument isn't that Ridnour sucks, it's that he got BETTER, something you've decided Frye is incapable of doing, not to mention Lee, Nate, Ariza, Curry, Jackie, etc. Not every rookie comes into the league all cylinders firing like Chris Paul. Look at Bosh. Melo was very good at first, he's much better now. Kids need time. Did anyone freak out and decide Lebron James sucked when his point guard (Jeff McInnis) went down and the Cavs went into a hellacious tail spin and fell out of the playoffs? Rookies, for the most part, do not know enough about the NBA game to win by themselves, they need help while they learn. With no Marbury, they have no help.

i wasn't a Frye fan at Arizona. He is better on the pro-level than I thought he'd be. He is solid. However all this future superstar stuff seems more hype machine than reality. In the end I feel he will fall in the same boat as Ariza, a momentary breath of fresh air for a franchise that was/is oxygen starved. Ariza was T-Mac to many, now ALL are seeing he was really just a better 3 for this team at the time than Tim Thomas, chiefly because he rebounded and didn't require shots to be effective leaving Marbury and gunner Crawford free to hoist shots all day.

do you really see promise with eddy curry? I dont. to me, he seems to be progressing at the same stagnant pace that crawford is. I see ALOT more promise with frye than with curry.

frye will most likely turn out to be a rashard lewis calibar, 20pts, and 7ebs, type player in his prime. do you expect less? I wouldnt exactly call shard a franchise player, but I would call him a major peice to a champiohship team, I would be satisfied if frye became that.

and also who said frye would be a future supetstar? I dont really hear anyone saying that, and whenver they do they are corrected by guys like me.

curry needs to work on rebounding, shot blocking, shooting, dribbling, stamina, defense, offensive fouls. So pretty much he is a lost cause b/c he does nothing well. With that big contract he plays like a rookie who has never been in the league.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

if Curry does nothing well, why does he command triple teams in the post?

lol true

Yup, he is a Maravich clone......dropped 7 points and 3 assists in 30 minutes and went 1 of 2 from the line lastnight in a 'Pistol Pete like' performance to lead his team to the L. This guy is obviously one of the underrated guards in this league. Zeke, go get Pete part 2....now!

You can't anything, Briggs say serious. One minute he wants to trade the # 8 pick for Kwame Brown or Darko (man and we are killing Isiah), the next we should be drafting Bynum over Frye (another omg) and now he is bitching. If half of us ran the Knicks, we would be even worst off. Lets face reality the Knicks have sucked for more than 35+ years. I love the 90 Knicks but they stilled sucked too, even worst that they actually tried to get you to believe in them and failed badly.
