And I hope we trade either Marbury Crawford or Q for Telfair and filler.

That'd be real nice McK1 but I don't see Portland wanting to give up on their young PG with a very bright future.

John Hollinger's Trade Breakdown
If there's a player who is the antithesis of what Knicks coach Larry Brown is about, it's Jalen Rose. Brown likes his players mentally tough and defensive-minded; Rose is completely offensive-minded and bristles at the slightest suggestion that he might no longer be a star. The two were paired briefly in Indiana and mixed about as well as peanut butter and tacos. Brown grew incensed by Rose's defensive lapses and banished him to the pine, and Rose got upset.
Oddly enough, this pattern later repeated itself when Rose played for Thomas in Indiana, which is why I didn't expect to see Rose turn up in New York.

Isiah is trying to kill Larry.

If it works, will the Knicks have to pay the remainder of LB's contract?

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Tonite Craw in the first two minutes dribbled the ball off his foot in the back court with minimum pressure.

Larry took his glasses off, rubbed his eyes and was gonna leave except he got all them wives and the house payment in the hamptons.

I felt sorry for him for a moment.

Then midway thru the fist he put Reezy in at point. I really felt sorry for him.

I think we're all overanalyzing this deal a bit too much. Forget that we got Rose. The trade was ALL about taking on a huge salary next season in exchange for what figures to be a mid-first-round draft pick.

Bottom line: Since Jalen's deal expires after next season, the deal makes perfect sense. I could care less what Dolan spends when it doesn't affect our cap.

I wouldnt have done this trade unless it was for Tor's pick w/ top 3 protection. Otherwise wait a couple weeks. No reason to jump the gun.

thanks for the good laugh.
cap space... dont laugh. The Suns gave away a top 5 pick just to keep cap space. We are giving the Raptors over $15mm in cap space next season. Sorry, but thats worth more than a crappy pick in the late 20s. Zeke overpaid and acted too quickly. AGAIN

You are asuming that Jalen Rose is a filler or the cost for us to get the pick, and thats not the reality of this deal. Isiah did this trade because of Rose, he knows his team needed an upgrade at Small Forward along with bringing some help to Marbury. Zeke did this trade because he wanted both Rose and the pick. Had it been a trade just for the pick, we wouldn't care for the player we get as long as we get the best pick.

Isiah didn't overpay on this deal...

Rose is a star. Hopefully they will expand the rosters to 25 so we can keep all the players we bring on

I'll agree with Fish that we probably should have gotten more from toronto given the savings we just gave them.

Sure, Rose is a decent player, but at this point, he's what Penny Hardaway should have been- filler.

I thought I heard on MSG that there was some cash involved as well. (Cash from Tornoto to the Knicks.)

Late 20s? Are you serious? Denver's only out of the draft lottery by 2 games. The pick will probably be in the 14 to 22 range.

So now that we have Jalen, a trade getting rid of Malik can't be far behind. We all know how Isiah hates having players on the team with the same last name. I mean look at KT and TT. Or it could just be players that share his name...

All kidding aside though it would be great to see Malik and QRich shipped out.

I don't think that's gonna happen. I'd be happy if Jerome James' contract were bought out though.
