I just heard from my guy that the workout went "extremely well" and Qyntel is expected to sign Tuesday morning.

Looks like we're in rebuilding mode and won't be trying to get veteran help this year to make a playoff push...good.

Ya know, I'm willing to give Kidd a pass at this point. He admitted doing wrong, attended lengthy therapy sessions with his wife, and generally seems to understand what he did and has taken convincing steps to deal with and atone for it. I don't much care for Kidd, off the court, but the guy seems to have handled his problems well and moved on. His wife is also a convincing witness that he's not a ****head at home.

That said, the Woods thing with the dogs is a bit disturbing. I've been around people who were raised tough and then beat their dogs and, in general, they don't know that it's wrong. It doesn't make them little Hitlers but it does mean that they are not self-conscious, educated, or smart enough, to be responsible citizens.

And, that said, bring on the Woods but make sure he's got someone looking over him and someone else helping him deal with his demons.

Again....we're talkin about doing something not only premeditated, but over a period of months, and doing so casually and uncaringly.

This is not just 1 act.

This is the type of thing you hear from serial killers......only this is with dogs, so the courts wouldn't hold it in the same light b/c animals have like zero rights.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Going with young, unproven talent means Isiah is not building around Marbury, which is not a good sign if you want Marbury on the team. It seems to me that Marbury will be traded rather than developed alongside these young guys. Agree or no?

I think if we had signed a young and unproven point guard, you would be right. Not trying to be an *******, but how does this signing mean Isiah is not building around Marbury? Or I guess I should ask, why does it mean he's going to trade Marbury? He shouldn't be building around Marbury. We have alot of guys who are going to be hitting their prime in 2-3 years. Marbury will be on the downside in 2-3 years. Rebuilding around him would kick us in the ass come 2008-09.

Marbury will not want to be part of a rebuilding project in NY, he wants to win. NY is trying to develop their young players so if they can trade Marbury for young talent they will go in that direction.

Also, just a sidenote I forgot to add, this is just a contract through the end of the season, no multi-year deal like we foolishly gave Butler.

Psychologically, it is a marginalized act. This means that the steps towards inhumane treatment are small and rationalized at each step. This does not validate it. It merely doesn't show that this activity is one of pure conviction. It is young stupidity. If a person kills a cat as a teenager as you read about in the paper, can they not have a child when they mature? If Q beats a dog, can he not earn a living as a BB player? Is he consigned to other things? I think he should be given his chance in the one Court that can convict him now, MSG. Either he rises to the occasion or he fails. Give him a chance to prove where he belongs.

While I tend to agree with you say Knight, you are trying to pass it off as a fact that Marbury doesn't want to be around for a rebuilding project. I just don't think you can come out and use Guesstimated evidence as fact.

I can't believe Marbury would want to spend the last good years he has with a team that has no chance of going deep into the playoffs. Seems reasonable to me, you don't have to agree.

No, I wasn't kidding. I just don't see it in Butler. Other than yesterday's 4th quarter and a few preseason games I've seen nothing from him. When he gets the ball in the post he looks lost. He can't play defense except for a few blocks. To me its like Frank Williams all over again. Everyone thinks he's great because of a few good plays, but in reality he's just your everyday NBDL starter.

I sincerely hope Qyntel is a changed man and does well for us. There is no question he has some serious talent and the fact that he is working so hard to come back this year when he is already getting paid by the Celtics tells me that he has something to prove. I'm anxious to see him play.
