Earl why don't you read posts that people write as opposed to pickin out one line at a time and responding to it. ?

Simrud - because its the best way to show how ridiculous some statements realy are

"And a man in my position can't afford to LOOK RIDICULOUS!!"

Oh yeah, you STILL haven't named a franchise that has done a total tear-down and rebuild on the way to greatness

I'm waiting

fishmike - the Bulls sold out on Michael Jordan residuals and a bunch of championships

>Simrud - Of coure they did, and so many other bad teams.

That is simply not true

You haven't named any teams that totally dismantled a roster and rebuilt from scratch

Not one
so why did the fans KEEP going? Because they marketed young "star" and the baby bulls. Knick fans kept going to the garden even after the wins stopped coming. The fans stopped buying tickets because there was no promise, only old role players that were boring to watch.

I'm pretty sure if we taked and landed a Lebron, Amare, Wade or Carmello people would start buying tix pretty fast

the $300m is probably the total owed on all the knick contracts- all years, not just the current year.

yeah, i get what it is trying to say, but it seems high. i just want to make sure it's not "fuzzy math" before it starts being quoted all over the place. was it from the Post or something? or did someone calculate it themself? how? i think we deserve to hear this.

James Jones is not a bad player, he can shoot a little, is very long and plays defense... not bad at all...

All I have to say is look at the way James Jones played after the big brawl in Detroit.....James Jones is worth the pick up. He can definately shoot it. He's a good athlete and defender too. This would be a nice pick up.

Isiah might get both players. He is trying to sign and trade one and sign the other. Would be very nice low risk moves.....

its in total contract value. Crawford $50mm, JYD $18mm, Rose $20mm, Marbury $95mm, Penny $35mm, Mo T $18mm, Baker $8mm, Nazr $10mm, Q/KT $40mm... its give or take but you get the idea. Maybe its only about $250mm.... not sure, and dont really care.

You can do it by yourself
to give you a start
just look at the transaction list since isiah came on and start adding salary acquired and deduct salary traded from the final tally. When isiah came on board, the NY Knicks salary cap was 74.5 mm. This year it will be over 120mm, not including extra transactions or huge luxury payments.

the point is he increased the overall financial commitment to the players under contract by over $250mm. Rather than let guys expire like the Cavs did, Isiah added players with longer deals.

FYI: I forgot Jerome James... $30mm. Silly me

The Cavs aren't exactly the best team to point to in terms of cap management. How long is Z signed for? How much did they just overpay Larry Hughes?

Now this thread is FUNNY! Thank God we're getting a little humor back into UK. I thought maybe the new format prohibited it!!

TMS, glad to see you recapture your role as the premier poster of funny pic's -- a role you used to cherish before you became a shameless HATER!!!!

And Fish - hell yea we remember that dunk!!! I love guys like Brewer - no talent but mad hustle! The recent Sweets footage brought back nostalgia about our man Jamison!!

fishmike - are you more into watching Dolan's bank statement or watching some entertaining and productive basketball?

This discussion of Isaih adding to the salry structure of the Knicks is a temporrry condition that CANNOT be changed in the blink of an eye. It changes dramaticaly when Houston, Penny and Tim Thomas come off the books.

Me personally,, I'm looking forward to watching Isiah's draft picks Nate Robinson, CFrye and David Lee. Oh,, the Knicks hade THREE first round picks? Gee, how did that happen?
