Yes he was quite a player at one point, and so was Clarence Weatherspoon. My point was Herb was in the league for much longer than his game warranted, and there were 2 reasons for that:

1. He and Ewing were good friends.
2. He was 7 feet tall and could stand in the lane with his hands in the air for 7 minutes a game, even at age 37.

The later was the point I was hihglighting. It would be nice if you would try not to swing from my balls so much, I wasn't even talking to you. Don't you have some homework to do or something?

Are both older than Diop. Better? That remains to be seen, diop is still very young.

just because you have size doesn't entitle you to earning millions in the NBA...you have to actually know how to play as well.

OK, I guess thats why guys like Felton Spencer, Bill Winnington and Chris Dudley played so many years in the league.................because you have to actually know how to play. And boy oh boy were those guys some players. If you look for guards comparable to them, there are none, because you have to be skilled to be a guard no matter what. If you are 7 feet, the minimum level of skill required is much much lower. Maybe you and Simrud are too dumb or too jaded to get that.

personal attacks now...you can't seem to argue a point w/o going there i guess...that's usually the case when someone doesn't have a point to argue that's worth the crap in their shorts to begin with...Herb Williams was a 20 & 9 player in his heyday, & in each of his first 8 years in the NBA, he's put up #'s that Diop hasn't even been able to sniff much less come close to...you trying to dismiss that oversight on your part is pretty laughable to begin with...& you consider Felton Spencer a scrub & so do i, but did you even bother to check his stats before you made that last post? you realize his first 5 year averages are at a minimum about 5 times better than what Diop has been able to put up in any of his 1st 4 years in the NBA? that pretty much tells me all i need to know about your mentality level.

oh, & did you just call those guys guards? maybe you should check your own post before you accuse others of lacking intelligence...just some friendly advise.
