Back to the question....do you all think that Zeke will try to pry Curry away from Chicago????? and, should he try eventhough we are aware of the health issues that Curry has.
I think so, but it should include an insurance policy (similar to what we asked for Q). So If anything happens with his heart we arent reliable for his contract.

Now Marbury Vs. Parker. Is this even a discussion? Did you not see how Tony Parker played in the Finals? If it wasnt for Ginobli, The Detroit Pistons would be 2x Champs. Parker is overrated, fast as hell but overated. When he develops a jumpshot and passing ability, we can talk.

Give up on that Tony for Marburry stupid idea. I love Tony, but Marburry is far better than he is. In fact all of you Nets fans need to get off our board, because some of you are still mad of the fact that Marburry declared himself as the best pg in the game, but watch out, next season will be a totally different thing...Marb will pull out of that pack as the best PG in the league for real. We have guys that can make shots, and guys that can operate inside and outside...We will have an identity..

As far as the "other" "7-footer," my guess is Zeke is thinking Kwame. I don't know about that idea. I don't think I like it. I don't like Zydrunas, doesn't fit our style. I don't like Curry, not tough enough, no defense, doesn't rebound. I don't like Kwame, he's a b*tch and an idiot and he doesn't play D or rebound.

I would go after:

1) Stephen Hunter - long 7-footer, played solid D on Duncan in the Western Finals. Can post a little, can run a lot, block shots a lot, decent rebounder. I'd offer full MLE

2) Dan Gadzuric - not 7 feet, but a legit 6-11, best rebounder on the market other than Reggie Evans, long, tough, plays high energy style ball. not a great shot blocker. Full MLE to him too.

3) Theo Ratliff - smallish at 6-10, 250, but LOOOOONG arms, great shotblocker, built like a tank, plays hard if healthy and happy. He's fragile, but he's a TREMENDOUS defender, he closes the lane and has almost the sort of impact a Mutombo does. I would rank this guy number 1 if we weren't going for youth. I would trade Tim Thomas or Penny for him in a second. I like this guy. Would Portland take the financial savings rather than waive him and only save the luxury tax? I'm sure. Now, people will say we can get more for the expiring deals, but we'd still have one left to use and really, what are we thinking of going for?

4) Chris Andersen - almost too small, 6-10 230, built like David Lee, would be almost repetitive with Lee's skills except he's a superior shotblocker and probably a slightly better rebounder. Lee is better offensively and with the ball handling. Andersen is D only. I'd offer $3 mill and give Trevor the rest.

5) Jerome James - big, a bitch to move off the block, gets rebounds through size, not young, plays like he's asleep 7 games out of 10, but he can step up. Check out his games in the playoffs and against teams like Detroit in the regular season. Tough call, but if no one else is around, he's big and to my mind, a better option that Z, Kwame or Eddy. It would take the full MLE, and even then, other teams will chase him for some reason.

6) Kwame - eh, I GUESS I would take him in the hopes that Agguire could teach him to play. This would take a S&T and might cost Sweetney and the Spurs pick or Malik and the Spurs pick. Costly gamble, highest upside.

I think we're trading some of our excess pf's and our MLE in for 2 more bigs, not one.

Not a GREAT shotblocker, but not bad at all either: 2.1 blocks per 36 minutes last season.

Also, I think the Hunter for full MLE idea that keeps coming up is scary. Guy's a nice energy player, can dunk the ball and block shots... but full MLE? I wouldn't go there with Hunter. He doesn't do nearly enough on offense or the boards to justify it. Plus, just one season earlier he was let go by a disinterested Orlando team-- is one decent season (on a great and unusual team, no less) enough to justify trusting this guy? Seems dicey, plus the stuff he did in his 'breakout' year wasn't really spectacular anyway. I'd take him for $2M or $3M per, but nothing more than that.

Gadzuric, now that's a guy I'd give the full MLE without flinching.
