I am glad you have an opinion but I am over this argument. It's not up for debate. Until we got hit with the injury bug 4 of the top 5 minutes played were Knicks and KAT was 11 even after having missed games because of injury. We going to have to agree to disagree and keep it moving. |

![]() I kind of took it that Mikal was in part advocating for the bench to get more minutes based on good play. Thibs did come back and explain himself that Kat and Brunson are one set of time. Josh and Mikal get more because they guard against "primary players" and sort of match their minutes. Maybe Mikal (and Josh) at his age is starting to feel a fatigue? Our bench is not deep with wing players of quality. Funny thing is seeing TJ Warren few weeks back in Greensboro he looks a lot like Alec Burks. While listed at 6-8 he is a bit slight but not quick. Perhaps hits his defense that is keeping him down in the Gleague. Not like any other team came for him either. His stats on offense are impressive. Its perhaps the physicality? Good win last night in Portland! We need to keep pace so we can perhaps experiment the rest of the way keeping our seeding and giving guys some rest and opportunity to play. Fact is if the bench does not produce we won't go far in the playoffs. If we break down because they don't produce we perhaps go a bit further anyway?? Plenty of time to rest in the off season! |

![]() When Mikal, Josh, and OG sit, Knicks have Shamet and Precious as their replacements to play the wing spots. With Deuce and Cam at the PG/SG spots.
Shamet is undersized but starting to come into his own at the 3. Precious is not a wing and it shows. When KAT sits, Knicks have Mitch, Precious, Huk at the 5. Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

![]() Im glad Bridges and Thibs hashed things out. Im glad this topic was raised by a starter. Cant be brushed aside as a fan, or media issue anymore.
When most of your starters are leading the league in minutes, you're doing something that most championship coaches wouldnt think of doing. Not during the regular season anyway. Thibs hasnt been to a conference final since 2011. Thats a long time to be going down this road without any real postseason success. |

Bridges was the ONLY trade I wanted made for this year, I figured with the chemistry and fit it was really the only move worth messing with the team. And rumor has it, I shared with DiVincenzo, that Thibodeau practices aren’t nearly as hard as advertised these days. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5361403/2024/03/22/tom-thibodeau-knicks-donte-divincenzo/ Despite all that, one Western Conference GM said his team has studied the medical data and there's no incontrovertible proof that playing a high volume of minutes results in injury. Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan, for example, led the league in minutes per game (37.8) at 33 years old, appeared in 79 games and finished second to Steph Curry for clutch player of the year honors. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nba/nba-confidential-thibs-method-successful-or-shortsighted ~You can't run from who you are.~

Perhaps, and I’m just thinking out loud here for no particular reason at all, we could study this question a lot more and really dive into the essence of it all. Perhaps we can share visual insights to help a brother out, get us up to speed on figuring out if it’s just you or maybe there are more like minded folks who would want to more deeply investigate and simmer on Taylor and her gorgeousness. ![]() It feels like something is going on behind the scenes. You have Mikal calling Thibs out, Thibs contradicting him, and meanwhile the front office felt it was necessary to bring PJ Tucker here not to play but to keep things in line on the bench/ in the locker room. It has seemed like the guys have been unhappy at times since the all star break. I still think of that game where Alan Hahn interviewed Mikal Bridges in the post game interview and he seemed completely checked out.

I mean, look at the box score and our wings play more minutes than the Celtics players he is mentioning. And that doesn't even factor in the fact we've gotten blown in most of the games, so why keep them out there. Now- if Thibs doesn't want to say either the bench is full of scrubs he doesn't trust or they aren't good and he wants the best guys out there- ok - that is an explanation I will accept. It's not right, and I'd rather lose games and be fresh for the playoffs than drive guys into the ground - but its a fair thing for a coach to do. |

I've been saying, he's a flight risk when contract is up. 5 1sts may just walk out the door. |

I still think of that game where Alan Hahn interviewed Mikal Bridges in the post game interview and he seemed completely checked out. You trade him or give him a longterm (team friendly) deuce type of contract (which is a low ball contract for his impact). Great ROI is an understatement. But Mikal has value in a certain role so I don’t see it as 5 picks walking out the door (that would make this move look even worse. Not Leon’s style). Mikal will have to learn what else can he do on offense and continue to perfect that mid range fadeaway. I know he needs to drive and get to the line more. At the same time, if he improves that already unstoppable fadeaway middy, plus he’s a 2 way defender so his impact will not always be obvious. I say do both. Lock him down and then trade him if necessary. But during that particular interview that I remember, Mikal was looking and sounding like he was on something, completely out of it, whatever u call it. That wasn’t normal to me but also I havent watched him talk much after games. On the podcast, he was talking and looking more normal. So my guess he was in a funk basketball wise during that time. Cause even after he hit that 3 he’s still a little weird, but not like before. I think his corkiness blends well with JB and Harts corkiness. Keep them 3 on low contracts if possible and ride that synergy until the wheels fall off. Bring back divo. 🤣 And the coach. He should be on the staff or Thibs replacement. Not pushing the guy out, but he’s not working for ever. Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Give or take, Knicks bench early in the season is Payne, Deuce, Shamet, Precious, Sims, Huk. Sims, Huk are centers. Shamet was not available. Deuce was a little hurt. Precious missed 20 games. You are down to Payne and GLeague bros and rookies. So, Dadiet, Toppin, Kolek. Those are the wing replacement options Thibs had for most of the season. Who are you guys playing to win games? Deal in reality. It's really a no win situation for a coach and team unless you are completely AOK with losing games to get minutes for Dadiet who can't dominate a GLeague game and Toppin who is not an NBA player. What you got? Deuce and Shamet finally got their injury bugs kinda over and seems like minutes for the wings are starting to come down. Do not wonder why that is happening.
