![]() well, I got to see the highlights
![]() looks like this will be a blue print Yankees 2011 victory. Just get enough buffer to turn the ball over to the pen and exploit the other team's crappy relievers. last time the blueprint was this, well... DLeethal wrote:

![]() So, some interesting thoughts after going 3-1.
- It is strange that Montero has not materialized this year. I wonder if he has any trade value at this point? Russell Martin has been a pleasant surprise and all of our pitchers seem to enjoy playing with him. That is a change from the Jorge days. - Joba is one of the keys to us being super successful this year. If he can stay consistent and avoid mental lapses, he is going to find a nice role on this team. He can come in in the 6th or 7th and bridge to Soriano and Mo. If one of those guys needs rest, he can come in a bit later. His fastball looked nasty last night. - Grandy needs to stay healthy and bat .275. If he can do that, we will be in great shape and have a very good defensive outfield. I'm a bit concerned about Swisher and feel that last year may have been his career year. - Jeter and Gardy will pick it up. Lovely to watch Tex and Arod come out strong out of the gate. If this lineup ever hits on all cylinders at the same time, we could easily score 9+ runs a game. God Bless George and the Yanks. Going to my first game on 4/15, sitting in the front row of the bleachers. Can't wait! |

![]() Montero is 21. Not worried about him not making the majors this year. He'll be up if they need a bat for an extended period of time.
The game tonight is brutal. The bullpen (sans Rivera) has come in not throwing any strikes and not challenging any hitters. |

I don't believe the Yankees have any intentions of trading Montero. The trade value likely got hammered though because everyone who needed to see him play this spring saw him play. The buzz around him is dead. There was a ton of hype before and that's gone. I still think the longterm catching plan is Montero so that doesn't matter, but if they wanted to trade him... ![]() Nova is getting himself in and out of trouble early on here. I hope he can make it through 5. Yankee pitching is just brutal.

![]() Let's hear it for Eric Chavez...he's been great when called upon this year. Gives NY the go ahead run in the 8th.
CC once again leaves with the lead but doesn't get the W. ...and unfortunately my Knicks/Yankees theory is holding true. |

![]() Colon and Garcia have been excellent so far. Who knows how long that can last, but they have done a great job.
