Barry on how the lakers fix their defensive issues, "it's about effort, accountability and attention to detail." Good luck.

With all due respect, lets stop blaming Mike D'Antoni for the Lakers problems. These problems existed before D'Antoni came to town. Just ask Mike Brown who was fired dur to the Lakers playing awful basketball. Maybe, just maybe... These Laker players are to blame for not playing as a team? Maybe it's the Lakers front office for going after pieces and/or players that may never fit together as one?

But yea, nice to see the Nets on a 4 game losing streak against the likes of Miami, OKC, Golden State and Milwaukee. Some team they have over there. Really can't wait for our rematch with the Nets come Tuesday. This time we'll have Jason Kidd.

Sorry can't do it man.

We're conditioned as Knicks fans, because we've seen his ineptitude first hand.

They should've stuck with Bernie Bickerstaff(4 - 1), they were humming right along until the D'Antoni hire.

A coach cant be expected to fix team issues or win games. Asking a coach to modify their system or use a system that is suited to their personnel is just wrong.

He needs to tell the Lakers "Let's go, let's go, let's go" more- it fires up the team and is a very difficult strategy for the opposing team to counter.

Aside from this, my most overriding memory of D'Antoni is the fact that he seemed to have no answers at all during losing streaks- it's like he just waited for the team to stop losing and start winning without any intervention by him.

What the hell is happening here? Did we switch front offices with the Lakers?

Jim Buss=the old Jim Dolan

New Jim Dolan=Dr. Jerry Buss

The Star(phucks) have definitely aligned for this to happen.

Knicks have become the anti-starphuck team. No shiny new contracts, signed old vets, stuck with the interim coach instead of the flashy coach with credentials. Lakers did the opposite of us. Yup that about sums it up.

Im starting to like the Lakers.

Maybe its the Starphuckedness of them.

They still have a great GM who has a log and most likely will land him in the HOF as an executive.

Isiah ended up in an ambulance.

They still have a way to go.

Remember, they paid larry brown 18mm in one season and then asked him to leave.

Can't make this up!

http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/12/tony-parker-sees-similarites-with-lin-at-same-stage-of-career/

Of all the NBA point guards Jeremy Lin has studied, there are few he emulates quite as much as Spurs guard Tony Parker. The Rockets can only hope he can mimic Parker’s growth as well as he has so far.

Through 83 career games, Lin has made 42.1 percent of his shots, averaging 9.4 points per game, in an average of 22.1 minutes per game. Through 83 career games, Parker made 42.1 percent of his shots, averaging 10.2 points per game in an average of 31.7 minutes.

Both began their careers overlooked, though Parker was a late first-round pick. Both had explosive first steps off the dribble. Both had shaky outside shots that led opposing teams to attempt to clog the lane to force them to shoot from the perimeter.

As with any comparison, there might be more differences than similarities, even if comparing Lin to Parker of a decade ago. But at least an informed observer of both thought Lin will develop in the ways Parker did.

“His shot will come,” Parker said. “Me too. I couldn’t hit a shot at the beginning of my career. I was still able to go to the basket. His shot will improve. It will help, definitely, his game. Definitely. When I start making the outside jumper on a consistent basis, that’s when I was more consistent with my performance.”

Lin was not about to compare himself to a point guard he called “elite”, but he did consider Parker a role model for a variety of reasons.

“Just creating space, changing directions, using angles, floaters, his creativity in the lane,” Lin said. “He’s exceptional with his footwork. There’s a lot of things he does that people take for granted for how good he is.

“I think he’s an elite point guard and someone I want to aspire to be in terms of how he leads his team to how he pushes the ball and makes plays.”

When Parker began his career, however, he struggled with the balance between playmaking and scoring. Through 83 games, he averaged 4.7 assists. Playing about eight fewer minutes per game, Lin is averaging 4.5 assists in his career so far.

“It’s his first full year,” Parker said. “There is a lot of attention on him. I think you have to be patient with his growth. When I first came into the league, I was a little raw. I was very aggressive. At the same time, I had to learn the point guard position and when to score, when to pass and try to find that happy middle, find the balance. I think Jeremy Lin is at that point.

“He’s trying to find his position on the team. And he needs to fit with another guy who is very aggressive with James Harden. I had to do the same thing when I had Manu Ginobili being super aggressive. You have to find your spots. He will.”

Well not exactly since Ginobli started like an average of 40gms a season after his first yr and won 2 chips in the process. Started 74gms when they beat the Pistons to stop their back-to-back chances. Probably at his nastiest

nice read and parker hit the nail on the head, it is going to take time for him to grow.. many forget that parker lost minutes to speedy claxton during one of their championship series, claxton played so well he played himself into a nice deal with the hawks.. parker improved each year... funny how some want to chalk lin up as a finished product...

The Lin fan base must have forgotten that Tony Parker was 19 years old and actually a rookie back then too.

The golden child is well into his 7th red shirt year of college, Van Wilder status.

I didn't forget nothin'. Some guys are late bloomers, I don't shun weight lifting because Brooks Kubik was 14 when he started lifting weights.

Lin will be OK, he's been thrown under the dust pile for too long and now he is still shaking the dust off.

Hawks look like the Knicks IMO. Add quality role players to a pointguard that can pentrate, try to play defense and let your "zer-sum" players create when you need more.
