Minny still scares me even in spite of their recent troubles. That said, I would like nothing more than a chance to see the Yanks crush Pavano in October. Eff that guy

WOW! kudos to Girardi for putting his ballsack on the table and removing Burnett from the rotation. I hope this isn't one of those "**** it, I'm leaving for the Cubs anyways" moves

CC was bad tonight but our offense picked him up... nice clutch hits by Grandy & Teix... Grandy's been getting lots of clutch hits this season in some big spots... i think there will be more to come in this postseason for him.

Berkman finally did something useful. Better late than never. Wood has been much better than anticipated all year. Now if we can only get Javy V to do something worthwhile I can issue my formal apology to Cash.

Berkman has been too good a hitter over his career to not make an impact. He takes pitches and gives you good at bats- he hasn't been that healthy over the last couple of years, but for the price we paid for him, I believed that it would pay off at some point. Definitely had a huge game yesterday.

It's only 83 plate appearances but here are Berkman's #s since coming off the DL (counting yesterday)
AVG: .310
OBP: .410
SLG: .451
OPS: .860

If he keeps this up for the rest of the playoffs, that's good enough for him to have earned a spot on next season's roster IMO.

honestly, I want him back regardless... If they resign him to a $4-5 million contract, and he bats 7 or 8, yes please

though that means Jeter will be playing SS again... though since Kevin Long reworked his swing he's been better

most of the decisions that will be made will have to do with age more than production... the older the roster the less flexible it becomes

I'm disappointed Berkman made these comments: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/news/story?id=5663783
I can definitely understand why someone would feel that way but why would you announce it during the playoffs?!

"I'm going to be 35 next year ... And I had a horrible year statistically," Berkman said.

Hey Lance... here's a tip... all that means you need to shut yer yap & be happy you're getting a chance to play at all in October.

Thames can be the full time DH then, or we can pick up someone else. Not a big loss. There's no way you could give Berkman a promise that he'd be the full time DH next year. Not at age 36.

Yes, not the most consistent of pitchers is he? But damn its good to advance in style with broomstick in hand.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

It's just one bad outing. He was really consistent in the regular season for us.
