He gave us what we needed but there is a reason he is not cracking rotation otherwise.

I think Achiuwa has the most remaining upside of anyone on the current roster. He’s raw, but man he has the strength, wingspan, foot speed to be an elite big man defender. His offense is so raw that he has a ton of room for growth. I actually would be taking my lumps in the playoffs with him knowing he can impact both sides of the ball. By next year’s playoffs we will be talking about how much he has grown. I’m a fan and am willing to suffer the shooting woes.

Time out. He is NOT more raw offensively that Mitch. He definitely is more finessed and can score more than just a dunk. I think last night was an aberation. Josh was also 0-7. Doesn't mean he does that every night.

If Precious wants to make $10mm+ per year he has to work on that corner 3 ball. I was dissapointed he missed a cpl of dunks/layups yesterday, but he generally is a pretty aggressive finisher and can do some damage in the paint. He had some good scoring games for us. He is not a passer, but if he can add a 3 ball to his pick and roll finishing and defense he becomes a valuable small ball 5 man and can at least pass at the 4 because he provides enough spacing.

I think the Knicks were always gonna get a 4/5 along with OG in this deal - given Mitch's and the salary matching needed they needed to get one back. They probably were choosing between Boucher and Achiuwa and I honestly would have chosen Boucher. To me he seemed more the rangy/defensive type, but the Knicks scouts got it right because Precious is the tougher player and the better overall fit.

I can go with this. I mean, you come in cold in a hostile environment in a meaningful playoff game. You’re bound to be a little inconsistent on offense. Don’t you pick on my Precious

Take out his rookie year in Miami, lets look at the 153 games in his three seasons in Toronto.....

avg 21min a ga,e, 7 FGA. .458%, Avg 2 3pters per, hits at .315% 311 attempts, Hits 98.

With knicks he avg 24min in 49 games, Avg 6 FGA's, hits at .525. avg 1 3pta, .260% rate. 50 attemps, hit 13.
His rebounding is up in NY. 7.2 vs 6.1 in Toronto.

Blocks are the same. Pts, 8.9 in Tor, 7.6 knicks.

Precious should get a IHart contract from 2 years ago. He can then try to work his way like IHart to trying to get to the $16mil range.

It's super weird that Knicks didn't get a team option or something with iHart's deal

Yeah. When projecting to go over the cap, not figuring out how to get to BirdRights is a bit odd. But, you can't renegotiate with 20/20 vision. They signed iHart with the remaining space clearing cap to sign Brunson, so its possible that Hart took less than he was asking and was only willing to do that for 2 years. Was a solid signing regardless. Prime candidate for the 1 year deal (which used to come with a no trade clause - not sure if it still does). Give the Knicks this offseason and season to plan their roster and cap before sorting him out with bird rights.

I will never understand the sentiment that OG is not an elite player in the NBA, like all NBA good. He is elite on one end of the court (like one of the “best”) and way above average on the other. He should be all NBA by those accomplishments but he is only an elite defensive player and not an elite offensive one.

he's a stud. I think Thibs gets another level from him also, especially on offense

Here is the wild part about the Knicks: they have another trade or 2 where they can upgrade talent.

Jalen is going to get better. Incredibly.

Deuce is just starting to hit his stride.

IMHO iHart has a giant offensive leap still in him (distance shooting and just move involvement in the high post area with the ball funneling thru him ala Joakim Noah). When will it come? Not, if IMO

Mitch can get back to owning everything off glass while being back to his terror on defense. Can he make even a marginal jump in offensive development?

Thibs super trusts 7 guys and Randle not yet back. Thats 8. I wanna see full season of healthy, integrated Bogey.

And signing a vet PG who wants a ring CP3 shouldn’t be hard.

15-2 from Jan 1 to Feb 1 after trade and without practice. Best record in league (Cavs were second best at 12-2 and Clips were
12-3). 7th ranked offense, best defense. Net rating of +15 (Cavs +14.5, Clips +10, Boston +6.8, OKC +6.3, Minny +6) that gonzo. And Mitch has not played with this group yet LOL

https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/advanced?DateFrom=01/01/2024&DateTo=02/01/2024&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING

DDV will get better in his starting role.

It should be THE priority. Which leads to some interesting Randle questions

I would assume both he and IHart are coming back. Reason for OG is because leons son is his agent. We don't trade RJ and Quick and not have a contract already worked out. For IHart on Brunsons/Harts podcast they were already talking about the size bag he would get and that how he would be able to pitch in for the team event. Can't pitch in for a team event if he is no longer on the team right?
