LOL....I love Torre but I'm glad A-Rod got the better of him this series -- A-Rod had plenty to do with the two wins we had against Torre...Bottom line is that Torre did this guy dirty -- not only did he drop him to the 8th spot in the lineup in that playoff game in Detroit which basically signaled defeat, he came out with that stuff in his book which really disrespected Alex even further. Good for Alex man -- and I thought he conducted himself with a lot of class going over to Torre to say hello and put everything behind them..I really laughed when he came over to Joe and faked the couple of punches - that caught Joe by surprise - his reaction was priceless - I think he thought Alex was really gonna hit him for a sec..LOL. You know what Joe, it wouldn't be like you didn't deserve it.
Still love Joe though and appreciate everything he did for us...I can't wait until the day comes when he's recognized all over the new Yankee Stadium...His face deserves to be up in the great hall somewhere..He deserves it -- the Yankees are probably just waiting until he official retires from the Dodgers before they mend the fence..
CC for hitting Padilla the other night = Awesome. You wanna hit our guys you ugly ****ing piece of dog ****, now you're gonna get drilled. And you're lucky you got hit in the legs instead of right between the eyes..Ugly head-hunting bastard.
CC's pitching much better recently too btw...Velocity's up a few ticks and he just looks much more confident and dominant. Dude may start off a little slow every year but he really heats up in the middle of the summer...We got our ace of the staff back now.
Cano = Awesome. I was screaming about Cash letting Matsui go, mainly because I thought it left us without the proper protection for A-Rod in the 5 hole. Man was I wrong. Robbie's always been a very good player, but he's really stepped his game up to an even higher level. Cash/Girardi get a lot of credit here in my book..
Gardner -- How bad is the wrist? Anyone know? What's the latest? Were X-Rays negative?
Chad Huffman/Colin Curtis -- What can you say about these two cats? They've been awesome, both of 'em. They're both playing like 10-year vets, not rookies. I feel so comfortable with them up at the plate, I almost expect something good everytime up. Real shot in the arm...I love Huffman's hustle -- dude busts it 100% all the time. Huffman looks like he's got the type of swing where he could develop some serious power eventually....These guys fit right in and don't look overmatched in any way out there.
Burnett -- Lost at sea..I mean what can you say??? I fell bad - you know he's frustrated and embarrassed...It's to the point where whatever can possibly go wrong, goes wrong..Anyone know when Dave Eiland's supposed to come back? Anyone know exactly what the 'personal reasons' are that caused Eiland to leave the team? has it ever been talked about? I hope he's ok -- maybe his return could be what AJ needs...I don't know man, but we've got to get this guy straightened out -- we're just giving the game away early everytime he goes out there it seems..
Carlos Zambrano = Cukoo...Nuff said..I'm always looking for the Yanks to add talent no matter what the cost (you guys know how I feel about Roy Oswalt) but man, I don't think I'd even touch this nutjob now, even if the Cubs wanted to give him away...You watch, some team out there like the Texas Rangers will wind up taking a chance on him though. He's probably done as a Cub..
BJ Upton = Lazy cry baby. I'm glad Longoria addressed his laziness --- that was disgusting..Never liked him and I don't like his cadillacin' brother either. F everything Upton...
