Yep, but I think we all saw that coming going into the off-season. Who knows, maybe he takes the vets minimum? A new coach might convince him he has a chance to showcase himself this season. I don't see many teams lining up to sign him.

If I was a vet min guy, I'm not sure I'd look at this Knicks roster and think Yeah I'll get playing time.

Would a trade surrounding Mitch and Deuce for Duren and Ivey make sense between NYK and Detroit? We clear a little more cap space to maybe add a vet instead of a rookie. Might need some picks to even this out. Both Duren and Ivey have been on NY’s radar.

I hear you but thinking about say Timmy/Clarkson off the bench at guard - that sounds a tad risky.

I'd prefer maybe someone with a bit more defense but still a shooter -- Shamet maybe? or C Houston from Orlando -- I suggested earlier Caleb Martin I think was bought out by Phx or Hou.

Don't think Nnaji, Pate or Bales stand any chance. Diawara probably in same boat - stays in Europe.

Posted elsewhere but think I want Dante Exum with our last vet min deal.

Adds ball handler with size, good perimeter defender, safe with ball and knocks down 40% on 3s on limited volume.

Can play off/with Jalen, Clarkson, Deuce.

Biggest thing is adding another ball handler with size and someone who can 1) defend perimeter and 2)knock down open 3

We can't. We are hard capped. He is a goner unless we bring him back on amin

Id rather go with Shamet over Simmons, even though his ceiling is higher. His actions in Philly didnt show much character, and I havent heard a "mea culpa".

Shamet was benched for a long stretch. Stayed ready, and chipped in when he got the call in the playoffs. Easy choice for me.

I don't get where Simmons even fits unless you're signing him specifically as a situational defender. But he comes with a lot of drama and bs so I wouldn't even touch him.
