well of course man, but i think it's just nostalgia that'll eventually wear off. the new stadium is just a thing of beauty.
not really... the new stadium is fancy shmancy but feels sterile to me... everywhere you look it's sensory overload with billboards, signs, flashing banners of different ads... the stadium is distracting to the action going on on the field... at the old place, as soon as you walked into the place it felt like the field was the main stage & the show was about to begin... i don't get the same kind of feeling when i walk into the new place... it's a great stadium but the character is gone IMO... the bright green grass contrasted to the bright royal blue fences at the old place, the organ playing in the background, the bright lights on the immaculate field... there will never ever be anything like the old stadium.
Funny, just had the same conversation last night at the stadium with my buddies during the ass kicking we received. I agree 100% w/ TMS and still wonder why we really needed a new stadium (I know why and understand the business rationale, but..). For a fan like me who doesn't get to enjoy the premium experience and still sits upstairs or in the bleachers, the new stadium doesn't provide me with much satisfaction. The new stadium is aesthetically less pleasing to me and looks monotone. Besides the big ass TV in HD (which is sick) I find it hard to find the game data I want easily and find myself missing the old stadium a lot. It is eerie seeing a big dirt patch where the old place used to be. It is what it is though, so we better get used to it.
Our bullpen looks like $hit right now.
