Bam getting over 80 is a confluence of everything Silver ruined in the NBA to allow a guy who is a bad scorer to get the 2nd highest points in NBA history.

Silver is probably the worst commissioner in all of sports and that is saying something

This is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in sports.

Well, let me tell you a story of Nalod.
Back in the day you had Jr high schools. 7-8-9th grade. Nalod was on the Varsity mostly made of 9th graders. I was 14 yrs old, 5 foot 5, and first guard off the bench. Maybe avg 10 pts a game. I ususally played the point but my job was to shoot, let the defense know I was there, then draw the defense and start passing. Usually against a zone.

We played the worst team in the conference and we swarmed their PG stealing the ball. A lot. Our starting PG was not feeling well and I was put in at the last minute. Nalod had 24 pts in the first quarter.
NO three pointers back then. First, a lot of lay ups. Then they dropped back. I started firing away. Could not miss. I was firing from everywhere, fade away jumpers, turn around jumpers, all net. It was like getting hot in the driveway pretentending. Feet never seemed to touch the ground.

Their coach was yelling I should be pulled. We did pull starters after quarter. We up by 20. Mine yelled back "He is our back up, Sorry". He turns to me....."Have your day son, we all got you, don't showboat".

Went 13 for 13 from the line, 30-37 from the field. Played the whole game. Felt great. 73 pts! At that level I never had scored over 20pts! It was not in our home gym and really nobody was there to witness from our school. Not even my parents. By the fourth I had 60 and as not thinking 100, but perhaps 75. I think I did the aplogetic shoulder shrug given my heat checks were insane.

No doubt my team fed me. No doubt my "record" was not natural but it happend. Like Malachi Flynn hung 50 pts and was out of the league the next year. You get hot, you go for it. That Bam took so many FT's? I did not see the game but were they legit fouls? It was a home game. What was the harm? The wizards suck, game was well decided, and they were defending him. Kobe 81 pt game? He played 42 minutes, game was in hand. Yeah, he went for it too. Kobe was in his last few games and was to retire. He went for it.

I am no fan of the Heat and Riley. Was Silver supposed to pull the plug on it? Why? Because it supplanted Kobe as no 2? Did the fans enjoy it? Those there will always remember it.

Perhaps Nalod's 73 pts were also a mockery vs an inferior opponent? We won by 30 pts. I had 12 assists. I did not mug it out or was disrespectful. My perspective is a bit different than many of you calling it a disgrace.
Nights like that are special for players and While Bam has had a storied career and multigenerational wealth he will no doubt remember this one.

My career? I stopped growing at 5'9 and was a rec ball star that never made my high school varsity team. We were state champs my junior year. It hurt to not be part of it but thats how life works. Other players grew taller and we had some kids transfer in. It happens. But for one day I had that magic feeling and was allowed to keep it going. For that I am gratefull.

And despite his flaws, the guy single-handedly gave us all basketball back.

All hail Julius!

Single-handedly because the right hand is a guaranteed turnover.

One can find clips of great players taking plays off and paint them similar.
Jules is paid accordingly to his output and MInny is back on track agin.

Meanwhile while we slept.......

Hawks won 8 in a row, 9-1 last 10!
Hornets are 8-2 and now over .500!
Heat are 8-2, 7 in a row and Wilt is back from the dead!
Magic are 8-2, 6 in a row.

In the age of parity teams are not always their record so pay attention to the latest few weeks of who comes in hot. They loom on the bottom half of the play-off seedings but danger lurks. Not just for knicks, but for any team.

Randle did that BS in the last minute of crunch time in the playoffs when he was a Knick

Stop apologizing for his rubbish attitude towards playing defense

Im not. Three time allstar and twice All NBA speaks for itself. Im not saying he was without his warts, but like most things it was uneven and thus I choose to recall the vast positives and others dig in on the negative. Its my opinion he took more than his FAIR share of the blame as fans need it.
YOu need it. You need a player to bitch stop blame on. Its your perogative and Im not telling you to stop. Not like he making max money or even close.
Nobody sizing him for a HOF jacket either.

He came as a free agent and did good.
