![]() As we get fairly close to the draft, I have a Knicks prediction that I feel could very well happen. I can absolutely see the Knicks moving Toppin for a late first round pick, possibly Indiana at 26 or 29 and drafting Jaime Jaquez. Jaquez just seems like a Knicks/ thibs pick. He’s an nba ready combo forward who can shoot, defend, make shots off the dribble, is tough and has a leadership reputation. At 6’7 225 the Knicks don’t really have a wing type like him. He’s a guy on the 1st round fringe who probably doesn’t crack the rotation right away, but can absolutely play and should be a longtime NBA player. He’s also CAA as a bonus. Comes from a major program with final four experience. A lot of the same qualities as grimes. Can’t see how thibs wouldn’t love him. That’s my out of box prediction. Toppin for a pick that lands Jaquez.

Toppin for a pick that lands Jaquez. My comp for him has been Jared Dudley. I don't think his iso game is good enough to consistently score on the NBA level, but he can take advantage of size and speed mismatches. He's also a good cutter and decent enough passer. He's a smart defender, but he doesn't stay with his man like Grimes does. I think he can be a good system guy. I don't know if he's a first rounder, but I can see him on a roster. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.
