Just saw that Derozan is expected to play this Thursday. That seems like a really quick recovery from that injury.

I have been checking in on that game but mainly watching the steelers. Rockets are crushing. Smith has been on the floor when I have changed over. Didn't realize he wasn't starting.

Covington is really good. A steal for the Sixers. NBA teams need to monitor the d league better

"Mark Jackson played a huge part in getting that team to where it is . . . "

I wasn't crazy about Jackson's coaching but . . . yes, he deserves some credit for GS's success. His Xs and Os were iffy but he helped develop Curry, Thompson, Greene, even Iggy and Lee. I suspect his actual strategy was generally "What Steph said." but he allowed Curry to learn and he kept the focus on defense and basketball fundamentals. Kerr still seems to be feeling his way into coaching but I've been impressed less with his situational skills than his ability to experiment. If you've watched GS closely, you've noticed that he's tried some interesting combinations/strategies during trash time. Jackson tended to use trash time to focus on individuals, Kerr has used it to try new team strategies, esp. with defense. FWIW, I'd also argue that a fundamental change in the coaching is moving from "What Steph said." to "Steph, let's try . . . " It looks to me, based on watching the bench closely, like Curry is involved in the overall development of the team. His "chemistry" with, say, Greene, and Greene's development in general, is now part of Steph's overall strategy. He's not just running the team on the floor, he's involved in the development of the overall team play.

i feel dwayne casey is sort of our version of mark jackson. eventually, when we expect to get to another level, we'll probably need someone else on the sidelines.

overall though he has probably been the most consistent of their big three on both sides of the ball.

yeah ... thats whats weird. Statistically he is doing fine, however, every time I watch him play I come away thinking that there is something off.

Maybe he is your Kevin Love? I think People have a problem with him because he is named the PG. What hurts his games is that someone so skilled at handling the ball doesn't know how to get to the foul line at a high level. He needs to make the jump like Derozen did in his 5th year and attack the basket more.

Note: I am not saying Derozn is a great offensive player but he did find away to get to the line more.

Ha, Brian Shaw is now officially trying to get fired:

Brian Shaw and the Denver Nuggets' front office are experimenting with eliminating the traditional shootaround for the team.

The Nuggets did not have a shootaround Saturday before their game against the Memphis Grizzlies at the Pepsi Center.

"I'm going to experiment with it, I think, for the rest of the season and see how it works," Shaw said. "Even if it doesn't translate into wins and losses, just if our energy and our focus and everything is better."

Shaw hopes to increase the Nuggets' recovery and provide more rest for players who like to go out the night before games.

"When you have a young team, you know, guys like to go out as well," Shaw said. "Am I torturing them by making them get up in the morning when they can be sleeping? And whatever it is they did the night before, maybe they have more time to recover as well."

The sleep analytic guy because analytics pretty much solve everything right
