The BOTTOM line--we did NOT pick up full court on Boston's last possession with 18 seconds to go. We let Rondo roll the court PASSED the half-court line --saving 4 seconds and subsequently DID NOT FOUL with less than 12 seconds to go---ALLOWING the Celtics to get a fine look and executing. They had 0000000 NONE NO NADA TO's if we foul with 10 seconds and trade points--pick up full court there is only a miniscule chance for them to do ANYTHINg--instead of a 40% chance at the shot they took!!!!! Terrible I was in shock MDA owes me my ticket costs back!!!!!!!!

i agree we usually do well in full court pressure i dont know why we didn't do that it cost us. I knew we gave boston too much time. i also knew once pierce tied the game it was over

Dble everything out at the 3pt line and who cares if they hit a 2pt shot? Up 3 With time running down we have been hurt by the 3 ball and it's something this team has to do a better job defending.

The slow 3rd qtr bug also bit us again. This team has to get the starters to play with much more energy cuz they seem to play slow and it allows teams to go off in the 3rd qtr of games. MDA has to find a way to fix these issues. I blame MDA for this loss more than the players.

A.......I tried to tell yall. We consistently come out flat in the 3rd quarter, especially in the games we loose. What kind of half time speech is MDA doing? Don't mean to sound like a broken record, but was MDA out coached once again?

Shump did good on him. Don't want to foul him and he is good at attracting.

Melo played a great game, and I thought Stat was very good in stretches.

We lost cuz Shump had a tech? Who knows. It adds up.

Y'all can bitch but Rondo played an insane game.

He almost had a 20, 20, 20 game......

I tell you what. Minutes played by guys over the course of this season is going to wear on teams come playoffs. Check out the minutes distribution for the Knicks in an OT game.

It's like some of the Boston guys played a whole addition quarter of basketball versus the Knicks starters:

Knicks still need work but they had the game in hand on the road after playing a sloppy game! but with 00:18 left it came down to getting a stop! D was there and Pierce made a contested 3! That's a low % shot even tho I don't agree with letting them even take 3, still the Knicks have to execute better.

This wasn't a very well played game and they had a 3pt lead. I think it's an indication of how good this team can be if they get in synch.

Rondo does that all the time....How come we see it and the coaches don't? We just let him roll the ball like that? Good coaching strategy MDA.

The chemistry has been crimped, no one can deny this. We were 8-1 without Carmelo and are now 2-3 with Carmelo.

He's a talented player but his presence is too heavy. Lin has been thrown out of the socket like an ugly woman.

I'm not bashing, this isn't bashing, but I'm recognizing a trend here. Believe me, it PAINS me to have to type these words, but someone has to take a stand. For the fans, for you and me, FOR THIS TEAM!

What was the level of competition within those records? How has the team looked in the 5 games since Melo got back..especially the last couple games? Can't just throw out records with no context.

Context?

Context: On the way to 8-1 we beat the LAKERS, MAVS, and JAZZ!

Context: On the way to 2-3, we beat a disinterested Hawks team and a Cavs team that PULLED AHEAD BY 17 ON US! And LOST TO THE NETS, LOST TO THE HEAT (I'll give you that), and now THE OLD, UGLY, CRIPPLED CELTICS.

Context.

Old doesn't mean Bad. this is a quality team. How many contested shots did Pierce & Garnett hit with hands right in their mugs. We did not lose this game because of chemistry between Melo and Lin. Pierce hit a tough 3 pointer.

Nets game we lost cause Deron Williams went bonkers. Was Melo playing defense on him??

I call this ENABLING behavior.

We want so desperately to believe Melo is a Superstar that, no matter what happens, it's something else, it's never his presence CRIMPING the squad.

I'm taking a stand, FoeDiddy, I'm taking a stand for you, for mrKnickShot, for earl, for SupremeCommander, for TMS, for CHAOS, for Kam77, for ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ULTIMATEKNICKS, I'm taking a STAND by LETTING YOU KNOW, LIKE PAUL REVERE, THAT THIS WILL NEVER WORK, THAT IT'S A FUNDAMENTAL DISRUPTION IN TEAM CHEMISTRY that is causing this MELTDOWN.

Marb my man, you are a DISABLER!!

Doc got PP to play the right way and Melo could definitely improve but he is a Star and we need him if we are to be the Anti-Denver. We need him bad!!

MDA has to make this work - that is what great coaches do. Create chemistry with star players - and that ain't easy.

Because we were down 5-7 and needed offense? Tyson was bobbling ball when in position for wide open layups. Wrist not good.

Good point Martin. His wrist does not look good - Or, Amare is teaching him how to catch a pass

Martin this almost needs it's own thread!!! MDA just has to stick with what he's doing and allow these players to gel. As Martin points out, the Knicks have legit depth and really teams have played guys extra minutes in order to beat us. We lost this battle but could win the WAR!!!

IMO this was a lackluster game by the Knicks. We know they can play harder and smarter than this. One thing that MDA said which is true, with such depth the starters have to play MUCH harder and not worry about saving themselves, but this is the habit they've gotten into. The starters don't come out with high intensity and it's the main reason we lose games. Knicks have to play harder than anyone else. We have so much depth there's no reason to hold back or slow the pace down as they did in this game. The starters need to push the pace and let the bench go even faster!

I think MDA also needs to do a better job adjusting to the Boston/Miami/Chicago type - Trap Defense.

Also, I don't mind the switching as long as they can switch back or double switch quickly. If a small ends up on KG, we don't need to leave them there for 20 seconds, we need to help/switch again. Not cool!

Yeah I was shouting switch back cuz there was time to readjust or give help when we got in those small on big situations, which the C's were doing on purpose over and over again.

I'm also watching the Nuggets vs Spurs and one thing I see is that the Nuggets run at all times and push the tempo and it's funny to see how much slower we actually play in comparison. We were getting a ton more easy baskets when Melo and STAT were out. It's a clear change of speed that isn't helping the team right now. They must push the tempo and get into their offense faster and with more energy.

At this point any lost is MDA, i thought he left chandler on the bench to long in the 4th, Novak had 1 attemp at a 3 in that stretch.

Worst move of the day by MDA, not playing jorts at all

yeah, but they said he looks good and practice, and atleast he pulls his man out to the perimeter..then aleast the defense doesnt collapse on lin, and amare..

Thats the big difference this year, last year we had chandler and gallo always camping out waitng for the corner 3's..

The starting unit hasn't had that consistanly, melo's not camping out, fields is shooting horrible from 3, and tysons looking for the offensive rebound or a easy dunk..

I know it can be frustrating but we have to allow the coach to adjust to all these players too. It's not easy to play 11 guys in an NBA game!!! As it is MDA played 10 guys and darned near won the game! This is gonna take a little more time for everything to settle down into a nice flow rotation wise. MDA will get Jorts in there.
