mins and old fan - thanks.

it's amazing what a little self control and discipline can do for you. i haven't felt this good in a long time. i must say, that keeping up this thread is a kind of motivation for me and i hope others on the board aren't peeved that i keep posting once a week.

bigpimpin - how's it going on your end?

Awesome djsunyc!

I actually have not been paying attention to your little lose weight scheme.

All I can say now is congratulations!!!!!

I wrote out a plan for me and my girl to lose some weight and it starts tonight at 12am. I don't want to take away from your thread with my BS, but this is pretty inspirational!

djsunyc - Hey I find it inspirational. I'm also trying to dump some weight - but I'm older, shorter and weight more so I got my work cut out for me.

Hey DJ, keep up the good work. At this point, you're in a nice rythm, and the most important thing is to not break out of it, b/c we all say "Ohh, I can go right back in, but that's 10% easier said than done. I learned that when I wanted to lose 40 lbs a year ago, and stopped when I lost 25. Did the same stuff as you. Pushups, situps, and I did those wind sprints that fishmike suggested.

Now I gained it back but I am back in the dieting and working out. More so the working out and doing the best I can with the dieting, b/c I work 5- 11:30ish everynight at the restaurant I work at. So keep going my man.

THE SIX WEEK UPDATE:

starting weight 204.5
1 week later 202.3
2 weeks later 198.2
3 weeks later 196.1
4 weeks later 190.8
5 weeks later 189.2
6 weeks later 185.2

man, the poundage is just coming off. and my body shape is AWESOME. just a little more love handles left but i'm cool with that

i will say this - i don't do any weight training, just pushups and situps so i definitely lost muscle mass and strength as a result - but i'm ok with that - getting diesel is not #1 in my priority list. getting down to 185 or so was.

nothing changed this week - still doing about 3 miles, 4-5 times a week, interval training on the treadmill. eating meat only 2-3 times a week in small portions. no chocolates, candies, sweets, etc. only veggies and fruits except for a breyers carb smart fudge ice cream bar (100 calories and only 60 from fat).

185 was the new target for memorial day...now i'm thinking 180.

thanks again for the encouragement and i'll be back next week.

kwazi - that picture you put up of all that food...amazingly, i don't miss it anymore...

THE SEVEN WEEK UPDATE:

starting weight 204.5
1 week later 202.3
2 weeks later 198.2
3 weeks later 196.1
4 weeks later 190.8
5 weeks later 189.2
6 weeks later 185.2
7 weeks later 184.0

and that's b/c i kinda went nuts on some chinese yesterday - a little treat, if you will. i reached a plateau so the last 4 lbs will be tough but i'm 100% happy with where i'm at and i'm sticking with it...

btw, these updates will stop memorial day weekend.

This is very inspirational to me. I played on my school basketball team and suffered and knee injury, this past season. While I was trying to rehabilatate I put on 20 pounds. I dont look that fat, but vertical leap to a huge dip. I now have chronic knee pain, and lost alot of my quickness. I'm 5'10 (w/o shoes) and weigh 195. Let alone the fact that Im only 18. My doctor said its mostly muscle, but I wont feel comfortable till Im back to 170.

well...there is this arcade game that makes you lose alot of weight. People in the 40s even play this arcade game. It is called Dance Dance Revolution. Rather that playing with a joystick and buttons you have to hit corresponding arrows with your feet basically dancing.

I played this for over a year and at a hard difficulty setting your eye/feet coordination has to go at a very high pace. You can get a good sweat going. Playing this game improved my footwork in the sports I play (basketball, baseball etc)

As far as working out I have no say in weight training I just started.

I am raw vegan and I am 6', 159 lbs. When I ate cooked food, I was 205 lbs, and then I cleansed all the toxin's in my body and went down to 149, but in the past month I have gained 10 lbs naturally and my goal is 185 by the end of the year.

cool - this thread has been resurrected.

it's now after july 4th weekend and i've been around 175-178 for the past month or so. i feel GREAT.

now, i did lose alot of muscle mass since i've only been doing cardio and this week actually begins my return to the weight program - twice a week, full body. so i may get some lbs back on but it'll be in the right places and my body shape will get even better.

mattshaw, was that you i saw in the "darren's dance groove" video?

Question, seeing that you're a raw vegan what do you eat for protein?
