Where do you come from with this I resent IT's power crap. I could care less who IT is, what kind of person he is, etc. As long as the team is improving I really don't care.

As for the money, no its not my money, but have you ever heard of the cap? Rose's deal goes past Houston's, and Mo Taylor is so overpaid the trade wasnt fare, we gave up too much with hat 2nd round pick.

I'm glad you weren't even to get the point about gettin players with questionable track records, just shows your level of understaning of the game, so futher argument with you is really pointless.

Rose also has a very manageable, valuable & tradeable expiring contract at 7mil. A lot different then Allan "The Gimp" Houston's $20mil

>>Why do youthink everyone dogs him?

fish.mike - everyone? Or just those who look foirward to seeing him fail?

could it be the confident grin, the drive to make changes without flinching. or the expensive suits? Seems to me Isiah has garnered more respect from agents than "you know who". But I guess that's not saying much.

>>I dont believe anyone on this board should be even implying that someone is a racist without something concrete to back it up.Thats just sleazy.

Kwazimodal - it was INTENDED to be sleazy just to stir the waters.

I wasn't implying that anyone was a racist. I simply challenge people to confront the dual standards for their vocabulary.

Yes, Isiah is one tough bitch. But in some corporate circles that would be celebrated as focused and determined leadership. Instead of second-guessing his motives, perhaps the results will reveal themselves on the basketball floor in gradual steps not unlike the recent surge in team play.

No, Zeke is far from perfect. I fullly expect many of his moves to be busts as MANY GM moves, in retrospect, can be valled into question. Its like a batting average, you get more than 1 out of three to upgrade one position and you've done your job. for that year

Take a look and compare this roster to December of 2003. and you tell ME which is better

I also challenge ANYONE to have constructed a more effective escape route from an unmovable, bloated payroll inherited from Scott Layden... without waiting 4-5 years for contracts to expire. and then.... starting from scratch.

I challenge anyone to name a GM who inherited MORE of an over-inflated assemblage of a roster since the Salary Cap was in effect

Why the rush to judgement?

he's already had busts... several in fact, but dont talk about here because your just hatin.

I dont want to see him fail... I just want him to make better trades then the ones he made at the deadline, because they sucked. Since he's batting about .500 hopefully the has a great summer, he's due

I agree, Isiah has said that he wants to get more tradable players:
"The problem is he spent a lot of money, but he spent it on bad
talent," Thomas said, referring to Dolan. "What I'm trying to
do is make the money equal the talent. The problem is that the
talent hasn't equaled the money, and what I'm trying to do is
get players here who have talent and the money justifies the
talent."

He said that we are rebuilding:
"...The only thing I want is time to fix it, because it's
going to take a long time to fix it, because it took a long
time for you to get here, so don't think it's going to
magically turn around."
and that Ariza, Sweetney, Marburry and Crawford are our "core".

Isiah said that he wants to put a good team on the floor now, as well as rebuild:
"I like the position that we're in today much better than I did
12 months ago," he said. "When I got here, there was no future,
there was no hope," Thomas said. "Now we have a present and a
future."

So there you have it, in his own words.

The Knick's advantage is their pocketbook. One of Isiah's big goals is to get more tradable players, which means players with more reasonable contracts. He is also trying to build a present and a future. The recent deadline-deals contributed to all 3 goals: the vets improve the present, the picks improve the future, and rose and taylor will potentially be valuable expiring deals.

If you think about the whole Nazr story, we got a backup center, got him a lot of minutes, and turned that into draft picks and a nice player. I'm sure that the plan was always to develop Nazr, then flip him for some other piece(s). Isiah had a good deal on the table from the Spurs, and he took it instead of waiting to see what was available during the summer. I mean, what were people expecting from Nazr? If we traded him for another 5 who had comparable skill, what would be the point? I bet that the plan all along was to trade big for small.

>> I just want him to make better trades then the ones he made at the deadline,

fish, mike - based on the EVIDENCE over the past five games....

Isiah's trade deadline move for Mo and Malik was a GREAT deal.

What EXACTLY is it that troubles you so much about winning basketball games?

We get blown out in the home opener. Tim Thomas battles an incomprehensible depression over deadly serious family matters. Jamal gets injured. Allan Houston plays too much and is a mere shadow The coach is fired. The Knicks survive a miserable January while Kurt and Marbury nearly come to blows....

and through it all Herb Williams does is hold the team together.

So, Isiah ADDS two veterans with big paychecks. So what? The trade sucks?

Nope. It provides :

an instant upgrade to the bench,

A healthy reinforcement to low post play on offense

and IMMEDIATE dividends in game results

meanwhile, you're intent on bitching and moaning about how you would manage the salary cap?

C'mon dude, the ship be floatin'

Life am good.

I don't like the Taylor trade. We were in position of strength we should have gotten a pick out of it. Having Taylor might force Isiah to trade Sweetney since Sweetney will be more movable than Taylor. And if no moves are made having KT-Sweetney-Taylor-Rose-JYD might hurt up the development of Sweetney since he probably won't be able to get consistant mins next season with that log jam.

I want to keep Sweetney-JYD-Rose. And I would love to move KT & Taylor. But we would have to move picks in order to do so which also sucks. Isiah would have been better off moving KT for Rose & 2 picks instead of Muhammad. Yes the team is playing better without Muhammad but they could have still moved Muhammad in the offseason and even pulled off a better trade and be in the running for Curry-Swift-Chandler-Kwame and anyone else I missed.

Moving KT for Rose and not making the Taylor trade would have allowed us to still start Sweetney, and save a boat load of money, given us more flexability/more pieces to work with in the summer, kept us away from the log jam at PF. Sure we probably wouldn't be winning as much games since Muhamamd would be here and KT wouldn't but in the long run it would have been way better for the team. Isiah should have shown more patience then more fans would give him more patience.

So anyone mad as a legitimate beef and I understand why there mad. But I do feel that we still have pieces to make moves to advance from this mediocre position so im willing to wait and see what Isiah does in the offseason.

I doubt the Spurs would have given up 2 picks for Kurt

It was said they preferd KT over Muhammad. Especially since KT can play PF or Center as can Duncan. And KT can play quality defense. But Isiah wanted to hold on to KT and wants to bring in more guys like him.

Earl... talk to me in a couple weeks. None of those wins was impressive. Every team was missing key players or coming off a B2B (and missing key players). Only the Lakers were 100% and look at how we almost blew that game. Add to the fact that once again we looked like a highschool team on the road against the Magic. Lets see how we play when the scedule gets tough again. We were 16-13 when we had the easiest schedule in the NBA.

Here's the schedule. I put bold games as ones I think we will win. Of course there is give or take but I think we go 8-14, at best 10-12.

Sunday March, 13 vs Sonics 6:00 PM MSG
Tuesday March, 15 vs Heat 7:30 PM MSG
Friday March, 18 at Hawks 7:30 PM MSG
Saturday March, 19 at Heat 7:30 PM MSG
Monday March, 21 vs Spurs 7:30 PM MSG
Wednesday March, 23 vs Celtics 7:30 PM MSG
Friday March, 25 at Sonics 10:30 PM MSG, ESPN
Saturday March, 26 at Trailblazers 10:00 PM MSG
Monday March, 28 at Warriors 10:30 PM MSG
Tuesday March, 29 at Lakers 10:30 PM MSG
Friday April, 1 vs Nets 8:00 PM MSG
Sunday April, 3 at Bucks 1:00 PM ABC
Tuesday April, 5 vs Pacers 7:30 PM MSG
Thursday April, 7 at Nets 7:30 PM MSG
Friday April, 8 vs Bulls 8:00 PM MSG
Sunday April, 10 at Pacers 1:00 PM ABC
Tuesday April, 12 vs Raptors 7:30 PM MSG
Thursday April, 14 at Cavaliers 8:00 PM TNT
Saturday April, 16 at Bobcats 1:00 PM MSG
Sunday April, 17 vs Hawks 7:30 PM MSG
Tuesday April, 19 at Bulls 8:30 PM MSG
Wednesday April, 20 vs Wizards 7:30 PM MSG

>> None of those wins was impressive.

Is it "impressive" that Allan Houston is wearing an expensive suit for most of the season? Is it "impressive" that Jamal Crawford missed an crucial stretch that he could have been learning to play with Stephon? Is it "impressive" that Tim Thomas sucked it up , despite being depressed, and tried to play through his family tragedies?

Is it "impressive" the Knicks started a center (Nazr) with nil shot-blocking ability and barely a trace of a low post offensive game other than putbacks and occassional dunks?

Was it "impressive" when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!!!???

Most of all, is it "impressive" that Isiah has worked relentlessly to make the Knicks a better team?

Is it "impressive" that ALL of the press corps who threw rocks at the deadline trades have suddenly shut their traps and changed their collective tune?

Since when did the NBA initiate an "Impressive" Win column?

Gee, I missed that one. My bad.

Just Win Baby.

LOL!!!

You're reminding me of the scene in Animal House where Belushi goes on his rant to rally the frat house, and one guy says to another, "Very inspiring. Totally psychotic. But very inspiring."
