djsunyc, you even need someone to go w/ you let me know. I'm at 50th/Lex now but I'm moving to Bryant Park in March. I (of course) would pay for my seat.

I hear you about perpetuating the cycle. I had season tix in 400s also and didnt renew a few years back because I had kids and the funds dried up, but the losing made it an easy choice.

Even when I visit my family in NY, I have more fun watching on TV than going to the games. I feel sorry for you guys if you have to spend more on seats, but it still doesn't affect me
you still dont get it.
No, You still don't get it. I don't order MSG. I have NBA league pass. The amount of money I spend is uninfluenced by the Knicks payroll.

I want the Knicks to spend as much as they can afford to if it means getting players like Marbury or maybe an Artest/Zach/Brand etc. So far the team has given ZERO indication of any desire to cut payroll or to allow even ONE expiring contract to actually expire.

Briggs, I agree with you regarding Walker 100%, but IF (and I stress IF) our pick is in the 7-9 range whats wrong with trading for a guy like Al Harrington? A versatile 24 year old 2-way player that can play and defend 4 positions. I wouldnt call that selling out to win now by any means, especially if they choices are guys like McCants, Graham or the kid Green.

Harrington is 2-3 years older then half the players coming out. If we dont have a shot at a guy like Bogut, taking a guy like Harrington is a solid plan.

i would LOVE to have Al Harrington on our team to replace Gazy...play Ariza in the 6th man SG/SF role off the bench & have 3 young athletic guys rotating in the 2 & 3...what's so bad about that picture?

TMS... the problem is we need bigs. Guy at the 4/5 but I still think we are bad enough where we should be getting the best player we can whether its 3/4/5.

Bonn, I wasnt commenting on what you spend to see Knick games, I was commenting on the reality that having a payroll of a 100mm is conterproductive if your as bad as we are and trying to build a real team.

Now I know will will respond over and over and use the word "actually" 3-4 times because you believe whay you believe so spare us. Agree to disagree

Agree to disagree? Deal. Maybe we'll see who's right this offseason depending on whether the Knicks spend more money and improve or just let their expiring contracts expire and save money.

BTW, I never said it was good to spend this much money (90% of which could be attributed to Layden) and lose. I said I'd have no problem if the payroll were $300 mil and the team won 60 games.

We need to address the 2 also eventually. I still think the right role for Crawford is as a 6th man, the role Isiah initially brought him here for.

i'd be fine w/rotating Al, Jamal & Trevor at the 2 & 3 & building up our frontcourt like fish pointed out w/MLE signings or other trades, etc...if you need to trade Jamal to get a legit shooter like a Michael Redd type, etc. to balance out the roster, then by all means do so...obviously it would take more than just JC, but you get the gist.

hell, i would trade Jamal for Al Harrington right now if i could.

2's are easier to get than bigs. Heck, I was at a game where Ariza played pretty damn good at the 2. You can get a James Posey or Bobby Simmons with the MLE. You cant get a solid 4/5 with the MLE. Layden might have thought he was getting Brad Miller or NEsterovich with the MLE but he lived in the different reality.

Yeah, I didn't mean that it would be very hard to get an adequate starting 2. I just meant that it's a need the team will eventually need to address because unless Jamal makes a lot of changes to his game, he should not be the team's long-term starting 2 guard.

Losing begets losing. I don't think tanking is a good idea. The players should play to win. The coaches should coach to win. The fans should cheer for wins.
