After yesterday's trip to Wisconsin the logical thing would be to back away from the spotlight.
If they medicate him will he fall asleep? If they juice him with what ever gives him energy but makes him irritable is that a good look? He shows remarkable swings and bouts of energy but with hit comes an erratic mixed salad of concepts.

Forget the tribal lines of blue vs. red. Take a step back and understand the moment. Our commander and chief is not functioning properly. This is a GAME TIME DECISION for the White House?

Fans Boo Silver. Fans boo Bettman. Fans Boo Manfred. Fans boo Goodell. No body applaudes the Commish of any sport. They are neutral thus the boo's are heard. Some fans even boo Santa Clause! Trump will be recieved to a mixed crowd. Did Dolan really invite him or did he invite himself? Dolan can't embarass him and say no? Most CEO"s find its not good buisness practice to do so regardless of personal politics.

Is he sitting courtside or in a luxury box?

This is game 3 folks. Not politics.

Knicks are not a hot shooting team at the moment. I have to credit SAS parimeter defense for that. Its keeping the red hot knicks from blowing them out. Maybe this is the best they can do?

The knicks ball movement is executing with great results resulting in a two game lead. Logic dictates they might want to do what teams did to Boston.......make them live or die by the long ball when the set is not in transition. Its. risk SAS might have to take. It could very well backfire big time, but down 0-2 is time to hit the panic button.

They will keep trying to get Brunson frustrated, get Mitch to retaliate, and hack at KAT to get him crying to refs. Its been a few weeks our guys are dialed in and know its coming. 13 wins in a row? Knicks are FOCUSED one game at a time! Likewise SAS knows if they can get one game that can change momentum.

Fact is the games have been relatively close and this is what SAS is likley banking on as to give them confidence. Keep doing what they are doing. They did eat up the knicks lead and while they lost the game they have to feel good about that. Focusing on that positive and run with it.

Trump or no trump, they are coming in to MSG to play. Trump or no trump knicks poise and fundamentals are to their advantage. The defense is fine tuned and SAS lapses for our wingstop is the fodder for feasting.

2-0 gives me optimism. This is good theatre and the glory is there for the taking!

The more and more I think about it and I admit this might be my Knicks PTSD kicking in but tonight is a must win. If we lose, the series changes. This is the first Finals game in MSG in 27 years and the city is on fire and hyped! It would be just demoralizing if we don't win! The momentum changes and the young Spurs get a new confidence if they can pull this off. But if we take care of business at home and win this one, we go up 3-0! Giving us 4 chances to finish this off!

We can't go into this thinking just cause we're at MSG that we will win. MSG hasn't been an advantage in forever. We've all seen too many teams come in and win it. The crowd doesn't faze professional players like it once did. We must continue to play well and play out TEAM game.

Nalod is more than likely correct that they invited themselves. If that is the case, we can't expect any franchise to say no. I haven't seen it happen in my lifetime or I'm not aware of it.

Take a deep breath. It is not a must win. You're over-analyzing. Winning both games on the road is a very rare historical achievement and gives the Knicks a gargantuan edge from hereon out. The Spurs are not going to win 4 out of the next 5 games against this team, so grab your favorite snacks and enjoy the game.

this team is so locked in, you cant doubt them anymore. cant see them losing a game.

we havent even shot well (credit to SA's defense) but also the refs have allowed them to be extremely physical on Brunson. If we have a decent shooting game it could be a blowout.

Agreed. It will hard for SA to get a win off us anyway, but the odds of there being a decisive victory in any game are in our favor if JB has an efficient shooting night.

I think the Spurs are in a tremendous pickle. They largely took away our plan A (KAT passing out of the high post) but we've beaten them with our Plan B's and C's, e.g., KAT driving and playing 5 out (not sure which is B and C). Spurs are the ones that need to make adjustments, and I just have to imagine that our team is ready to revert back to Plan A when the opportunity exists. They can't take away everything.

Hoping for a fair, consistent whistle and think the Knicks will take care of business.

Game 2 had no business being close. I don't think we collapsed. We were the victims of some serious BS by the zebras.

And I agree with the above that if we shoot the ball efficiently then Watch Out. (Also heard that KAT has yet to score in the 4th quarter!!)

Fair whistle, not likely. Let's see if SA is allowed to body blocking all the ball handlers bringing up the ball. Brunson looks like a running back rushing the ball.

I think SAS is gonna look at all of those hard doubles they did on brunson in the 4th and decide it was a bad game plan. Knicks got a lot of threes and orebs bc of crossmatching.

Things are set up well for Brunson to have his efficient game imo.

Josh needs to stop committing dumb fouls as he often exerts real pressure on defenses when he is advancing the ball. He was actually missed in the last game. I know people would just as happily see him sit when he is in dummy mode, but when he isn't is when the Knicks are best. He is still a key member of the starting unit and he played something like only 18 minutes in game 2

Let’s keep politics to the other subforum so that all Knicks posters can enjoy this one. Thank you in advance!

He said he's attending the game. Not sorry for mentioning something that is going to happen at MSG for Game 3 if he keeps his word. He's bringing the politics to the Knicks, not the fans. If he's there then people are going to comment on it.

no one is suggesting an apology and I understand the instinct to comment, and the emotions behind the comments. But there's another subforum (off-topic) for commenting on thoughts about the president etc. We should keep this particular forum/topic a place that all fans can enjoy without risking it turning into politics which is off topic and prone to be divisive. this happened some months back.

And I responded to you that he said he'll be at the game so it is relevant to the Game 3 thread.

You think if he shows his face and the boos rain down people are going to take it to a politics threads? It is a Game 3 event then.

I can respect your request outside of this context, but you're micromanaging something that is slated to happen at Game 3.

the last time politics came up back w Gaza etc I brought the issue up concerning forum etiquette and Martin gave me some moderator controls, e.g., deleting posts. I have exercised that extremely sparingly. My take on it, was to keep things content neutral concerning politics within the sports forum. The game thread should be a safe space

So, if for example, Trump showed up and garden went crazy in a positive sense, like it has at football games etc. I would say the same thing I'm suggesting here. More than one person has suggested that the seat prices are so expensive that only hedge fund guys can afford, so it might not be out of the question to get a Trump chant.

Comments about politics should be in the off topic forum because it's clearly not about the game and instead it's meant to haze or praise whatever politician. And I do get that some of the comments are intended to be funny but you should admit that it's a slipper slope that we have slid down quickly in the past.

Indeed through several posts now I suggested and reminded people of the off topic forum so everyone should know where to post their comments and jokes without injecting them into the game discussion.

Martin, I would appreciate some guidance here if possible, if I'm misinterpreting the takeaway from last time.

Thank you everyone for being respectful

I was being respectful.

Context matters, therefore I acknowledged your wishes, but disagreed with you in this instance because something happening AT THE GAME is material for the GAME THREAD.

If anything happens while we're watching the game you want us to muzzle ourselves because it doesn't fit your topical comfort zone?

It's a game thread. Stuff happening during the game should be allowed to be spoken of without censoring.

Personally I don’t care if you wear ladies underwear, drink orange juice out of the container or fart in a jar and sell it on eBay…….just talk about it in the other forum. Granted, it doesn’t get the traffic of the main forum but that should tell you everything that you need to know.

OK, thanks for your opinion.

My opinion is based on a simple logical principle:

What happens during the game is subject matter for the game thread.

i 100% agree with you
i made a dolan comment and that got deleted too
wtf is going on here?
it’s a headline event taking place AT A KNICKS GAME

Deleted? Not by me most certainly.

The president is coming to the game everyone. That’s the context. I’m not sure why we need to discuss the context of the context cause it’s happening.

IDK I think it’s the dumbest visit and dumbest decision by Dolan considering the Knicks vibes going on. It’s distracting already

Dolan doing Dolan things. He is finally getting some love from Knick fans and he does this.

Dolan could have said no. Why couldn't he say no ? To spare his fans the inconvenience to allow his poor fans to have a watch party outdoors. Dolan can continue to give his donations to the RNC all he wants. Dolan was doing the right thing all these years and he now goes to step in it. I won't be surprised if the fans chant " Dolan sucks " at the game and ignore Trump. Dolan would deserve it in his own arena during a NBA championship. How embarrassing that would be even for him

I would imagine Dolan invited him and based on the quick support shown from Adam Silver I would not be shocked if he was involved as well.

What in the world was Dolan smoking ? If Trump was my guy I wouldn't allow him to come to be booed. But Trump will say they were chanting his name every time they boo.Negativity at the Garden, controversy, obvious disregard for the fans, when everything was running so smoothly. You don't invite chaos when things are so perfect. Dolan should know better. You don't mess with the energy and good vibes, Dolan is an idiot. Hopefully, Jeremy Lin back at the Garden brings back the joy of the Linsanity with days. Also Trump can backout because he should be doing something more important,
