I am alone in thinking that KP would love a reunion?

No way Boston keeps him

KP’s biggest fault was being here w Melo who never liked sharing the ball or spotlight and was a terrible influence. And I’m glad he’s not on the sideline w all the other Knicks

Hard pass. He turns 30 next year and he's going to make $31M. You say no way Boston keeps him but I'm not sure they have a choice. And I'm not even factoring in the health concerns.

Next great big Eurostar nba player and he plays in the Garden every night. Lights up NY. Lights up the nba. Gets injured. Turns into a diva. Kicks the Knicks while they are down and gets traded out of NY.

Goes to Dallas. Ironically the city of Dirk. Joins forces with Luka. 2 players built to play with each other. Porzingis can’t help himself continues to be a problem child who blames teammates for his shortcomings and gets himself traded less than 2 years later.

A couple years later wins a ring watching on the bench in street clothes. Following year gets eliminated by the same team he was too good for in the arena he was too good for.

Enjoy next season Kristaps. You will be forced to retire after the season is over and the Celtics fans have only begun to be disgusted by you.

If he can’t fix his illness then retirement is the only option. Too bad, before he chose the Celtics I would’ve welcomed him back as a big off the bench. Glad we didn’t do that now. Hope he gets well soon though he looks visibly ill.

I think he’s malingering and wants out of the nba.

Yeah but still. F KP.

Good luck to Boston trying to move him in the offseason even with just 1 year left on his contract. The guy is a locker room cancer and complete stiff zero on the court.

Hall of famers don’t need to share the ball with a second year straw man!

You read he is a bad teammate in Boston?

KP at 31mm is not a good idea for knicks regardless of the reasons.
Oft injured.

Boston got what then needed from him when they got their chip and a 61 win seasons.
I can see this dude on GSW, Hou, Sac or SAS as a roll player.
Celtics will have to dump an asset to make it happen.

Wait one year and see how much his market drops... he could be a great bench player for us at a lesser salary IMO

Agreed. And there’s no real way to get him before he’s a free agent. We aren’t trading anyone from the starting 5. If he were to want to come here on the taypayer MLE next year, great, but I doubt that happens.

I have very mixed feelings about a KP reunion. Certainly am not advocating for it

And I'm not sure how you make the situation palatable because he's completely unreliable. It's always some injury or another

All that said, I do think he's remorseful for being a jerk and would love to return

I also wouldnt mind a reunion either with reservations as well. But that would likely involve trading Mitch. I think Thibs has found the perfect role for him as backup center. He still makes other teams nervous.

Im hoping Mitch gets extended in the offseason, even though the FO tried to move him. I believe the playoffs(and a reduced role) have shown what Mitch can do in the hunt for a ring.

He was beyond horrible in the playoffs this year. Couldn’t shoot. On defense his nickname is the scarecrow and there’s a reason for that. He doesn’t move well at all. Slow. Can’t move laterally. If it wasn’t for his absurd length he’d be a total non factor defensively. Watching him I really get the impression he does not enjoy basketball at all and is counting down the days before he can retire.

Malingering

A lot of us grew up watching Patrick Ewing play 35-40 minutes a night for years with the knees of an 80 year old man and that was back when the game was much more physical.

Backup out-5 C who is on a very low contract. Brings Gurdis back into the fold too.
