I'm honestly still pretty PO'ed about the Atlanta loss but good bounce back win I guess. You can tell Thibs grilled defense and rebounding cause the effort was a lot better. Even though the Magic are undermanned, they still can play physical tough defense and I thought we did a much better job matching that physicality. It's rare Brunson has 2 bad games in a row and I knew he'd have a big game with 31. KAT was a monster with 22/22 but it's kind of funny how he plays against Wagner. Like KAT truly dislikes him LOL. Congrats to Mikal for 500 straight games. In an era where guys like Embiid sit out with a 'sinus fracture' this guy hasn't missed a game in HS, college or the NBA which is remarkable! And he had I think his best man to man defensive game against Suggs. He was all up in his face all game long and Suggs ended up shooting 4/19. Why can't he play defense like that more often?

Good physical win against a severely undermanned Magic team, that is still pretty tough and reminds me of our 2021 team. Not much else to glean from this besides we won a physical game against a team we should beat. Important to not lose games like this.

I really can't stand the showboating from these guys though, they haven't earned the right to taunt and mock and poke fun at their opponents at all. Especially when you got punked the game prior and let Trae Young roll dice on your logo at home court. Mikal has been underwhelming all year and he hits a couple shots and starts sniffing his hand and mocking the other teams bench. Really very lame tbh.

All that said, this team feels like they've played like crap all year and have been below expectations in terms of performance and are still 16-10. We compare to last years 50 win team, but forget it took a ridiculous late surge last year while all the other teams around us were tanking to miss the Sixers to reach 50 wins and the 2 seed. This team is building a higher floor and if they can get a couple of those streaks like last years team did they will be closer to 55 wins this year. Their floor is 16-10 after a pretty meh start. So this team is really good, just need to get better at winning games when the shots aren't falling i.e. scrap out wins with defense more often. If their shots aren't falling they get blown out right now.

KAT is one of the best players in the nba. Imagine if he ever started getting calls.
