MEOW !!!

- we seem to be losing guys left and right on defensive rotations --- thought Heat might match Celtics in 3's at one point tonight
- Heart skips a beat on every inbounds play --- whether it be under our own basket or on sideline every pass is a heart stopper
- Sims very underwhelming for me (solid rebounder and switchable defender) but very very little else in terms of rim protection...etc
- felt like whoever Deuce was next to when he 1st entered game scored about 14 straight points (amazing)
- Josh amazing effort
- OG basic #s but absolute shut-down defender
- Herro still making 3's
- KAT - SO SKILLED but damn like the inbound plays my heart skips a beat every time he gets a silly foul

- Really feel like Precious will provide a big spark and think both Shamet/Ryan shooting/movement skills can contribute

Meow indeed!

Man, low-key, Josh has an underrated social media team.

* Give credit to the coaching staff...Clearly we emphasized more 3's - shot a season high 40 of em. More ball movement- 30 assists.
* Saw more cutting and player movement - Hart cutting backdoor, Towns cutting to the basket from the weakside from the 3 point line.
* Brunson with two lobs - one to Towns off a beautiful PNR, and the other lob to Sims....Brunson, also finished with a season high 9 assists.
* We began the game featuring Kat which I hope is the game plan moving forward. If he has it going early, it really opens the paint later on for back door cuts and for Brunson to do what he does best and get two feet in the paint.
* Had some good moments defensively in the second half. Mikal was more active and OG bodied-up on Butler.
* Lots of good things to build-off moving forward

The good news. I can see even more room for improvement as Jalen becomes more comfortable juggling playmaking/scoring duties. The uncomfortable part, seeing Deuce as the lone bench scorer.

Small sample size but I believe Bridges leads the team in blocks after tonight's game.

Could be wrong but I don't think that's the plan.

Remember - Knicks were pushing for Wolves to take Randle/Mitch -- their wish was not to pair Kat with Mitch.

I personally think putting Kat at 5 is where he will have most space and biggest advantage.

Will be interesting to see what ultimately happens with Mitch and whether we use him or lose him.

Totally. I’m always surprised at how many passing opportunities Brunson misses or recognizes late. Weird that he is not a more instinctive passer.

Vs Miami and Bam. KAT had good fundamentals and NOT SOFT!!!! He is rebounding at a higher clip then the 4 with Rudy.

Always nice to see Bam look irrelevant and Jimmy un-threatening. Knicks 2+2 after four play off teams. Jacquez would be a nice get for us for the bench. I see Pacome being better then Jacquez next season

Just throwing this comment in this game thread because I noticed it tonight.

Tatum shot 8-11 (73%) from 3 vs us in game 1. In last 4 games he's 15 of 50 (30%) from 3 including 5-18 against that great Pacer D.

My point being 1st game was an anomaly - I said in game 1 thread that Celtics shot like the Priest from Caddyshack that night.

They are extremely tough YES but that game if anything was good for us and will give us something to work towards (avenge) down the road.

Don't you guys worry that is just the beginning of the season and already the starting 5 are playing 36-42 minutes each every game? As the season goes on the chances are we will have more than the current 2 players out and not less. So the team plan for the entire season is to burn the 5 starters even before the playoffs start? . At the moment the only option I see is playing at least 1 of the 3 rookies even limited minutes. its better for them to get some experience now instead of throwing them in there during the playoffs.

Precious should be returning in a week or two. Matt Ryan should be ready to go for limited minutes in a few weeks too. Plus Dadiet, Kollack, Simms, will get time to improve in practice. I'd say when Precious returns he will get time at 4/5 giving Kat and OG some more rest. When Ryan is ready for 10 mins that will give Bridges and Hart some more rest. Then Cam and Deuce will get Brunson more rest

That was ELITE!
Obvious attempt to get him the ball more and for him to be a lot more aggressive.
And KAT showed what happens if you double team JB.
Only one game but several promising things from KAT.

We can go on a big run.
Especially if others on the starting lineup get it going as well.

Great win!

Boston, Indiana, Cavs, Miami. That's the games you play your starters to see where they at.

Bench will be grooving soon.

Thats game 4 of the new era. Vs. elite defender in BAM, who looked awful BTW, and an Heat team known for defense we got KAT looking like an MVP contender, Allstar and all NBA at some level. One game, but it was. a road game.

But.......Heat with Herro and Rozier are not elite defense. Jokic is tall, young and skinny.
OG kept Butler in check who really was saving it for the 4th quarter. Not this time. He is set to make 52mil next year and wants an extension. Riley is like "Dude, you might be ready to retire next year!!!". Riley is right, he misses too many games to ask for that kind of money at that age. I respect Jimmy's career but he can be a bit hard headed at times.

Always fun to get a win in Miami!

I guess the HUK over Sims thing was a bit premature? Was not quite the dawn of a new era?
Only negative takeaway was we only played 8 players and starters logged in a lot of minutes.
