Still thinking the Knicks need to offer the pick package to grab Caruso from Chicago. He fits the OG, hart mold of players who fit here and impact goes beyond regular role player level. He can also serve as a backup PG to Brunson and take a bit of pressure off of him as a game manager. He’s not a scorer but he can run an offense. Bogdanovics contract is non guaranteed except for 1 mil, and they can move that to Chicago for Caruso and just a minor filler salary to make the money work. Then it just comes down to picks which we have a lot of.

I love Caruso but I wouldn't do this trade. Would I do this trade if literally nothing else better came up? Sure I would. But I think the Knicks can do better and I'd resign Bogey to a 2 year extension or something and wait it out.

For me, it's a bit too much duplication of something that you have plentiful resources for (DDV, Hart, OG, Deuce are all in that wing slot). I'd look at that bench and all I see are really good defenders and glue dudes and not enough skill (ball handling, shooting, dribble drive).

And this is all with Randle back to fill that secondary offensive engine. I don't know enough about Caruso's ball handling and PG play but I suspect it's good enough during the regular season in spots but not nearly enough in tough games or playoffs.

I am in this camp.

i would be very reluctant to give up any of the Nova guys. We need that competitiveness.

i can imagine a world where we convince ourselves that OG, Precious and perhaps another is enough at the four and we package Randle and assets for a different superstar. Randle has definitely benefitted with more talent around him but i still don't trust him when the game is on the line. That said I wouldn't trade him unless there was some incredible return

I agree here. Granted, when the game is on the line He has performed in the past but now he has OG, DDV and that Brunson fella. Prior it was he or RJ taking over with ISO. In January the balled moved with him.

DDV is no star, but if hot he can light it up. Same as Booker. I like Booker but the price would be massive as would his contract. I think DDV gives us 3/4ths at 25% the cost. Thats money that goes to more talent. PHX sin was lack of depth. Ours was injury.

I am reluctant to move DDV. Josh will be back to the bench.
I like Mikal but moving OG to the 4? Might not be awful.
At the same time, what does (money aside) a KAT pairing upfront do for us? What if iHart leaves? Kat gives us mintues a the 5.
Randle is the core piece which saves Minny money. Is Kat proven more to be less soft? More mature he handle Thibs? If not, he won't want it nor do we.

No one really available aside from Tyus Jones on the backup point guard market. Would he take $12MM mid level? Chris Paul is way to inured, we need some young legs. He would be perfect.

Need another ball handler, can’t have Brunson over worked and beat up bringing the ball up. Would like to see him off ball a little more.

Gotta say Ihart had a very solid season, but watching a guy like Turner who can shoot and space the floor makes you realize how limited we are at the C even more. Ihart had every chance to have a big time series and ended up averaging 6ppg and 9rpg, a bit disappointing.

I think we messed up not going after KP that's no secret, but we could really use a different look at C. Maybe we should look into drafting a big man that can space the floor.

We are running it back with the exact same roster next season. OG will opt out and get a big fat contract from us. Maybe Hartenstein leaves

Brunson is a top 5 guy, and Randle as a #2 is fine. BOS is the favorite and Brunson is just as good as Tatum, and Randle is on par with Brown.

This team can win it all next season.

we will have a great op to replenish the cheap youth and keep building long term.

this was a great learning experience for guys like DDV, Brunson, Deuce...etc... having to learn and work so hard to get their own shots.

It's gonna feel like easy mode next season with Randle & Brunson creating so many looks, and OG spacing the floor.

I will say, I do think the C spot could use some spacing.

maybe a bit, but Thibs has had bigs like Ihart and NOah run the offense from top of the key, putting them far from the basket.

bringing the opposing big man 25-27 feet out is a huge advantage IMO, doesn't necessarily mean our rebounding would suffer.

Was looking at a list of 2024 UFA’s. Didn’t see anything that made me go wow. Derozan, Valanchunas and not much else on the top shelf.
