And as much as I like him, I'm not overpaying and breaking the bank for him either.

The shooting was never an issue when guys like Randle, Grimes and Quickley were knocking them down.

And Obi, and Brunson.

Brunson still shows up at least. Obi has become pretty much an afterthought for me. He’s either gone or stays as a limited backup. Thibs doesn’t really trust him. He throws up wide open UFOs as much as he knocks them down. He puts up numbers when the games are loose. He’s not a playoff type guy though. He can run with LaMelo ball or Haliburton in the regular season and score but that’s probably the limit.

I wouldn't say it wasn't an issue, but the issue was minimized because you had some players the defense had to respect and you had players who could get hot and get points fast.

Hart is definitely not an $80 million extension player

Michael Jordan Scottie Pipen is a shooting version of Josh Hart.

Also starting hart did one important thing for the FO. It normalized josh harts value and remove his leverage. If he stayed in the second unit as I suggested we probably over paying him, so good job by thibs or the FO. He’s definitely not worth what he would’ve got if he didn’t start.

Same with IQ. Since he fell off in the playoffs, his value also dropped. I hope this playoff run how these guys performed or not performed gives the Knicks leverage with off season contract negotiations.

Their market value is no longer at a high. IQ has been knocked down. Suggesting to trade Randle is never realistic because you won’t get a player as good as him back. Plus he doesn’t miss many games and puts us in position to be a playoff team. He is very good in the regular season. We just need a team where he’s not relied as a second guy in the playoffs.

While it is true IQ’s value probably has taken a hit from him being exposed in this year’s playoffs overall it’s still fairly high. We probably could get a top 15 first in this year’s draft for him even now

These guys fell off to knick fans because we are personally invested. But when you listen to the tnt cast and other sports analysts, IQ is seen as a potential starter and Randle is a 2x All Star who can carry a team by himself. These guys are more valuable now than last year. But it also gives the Knicks some leverage on resigning IQ to a decent contract. Or flipping him for a better player or better fit.

Damn shame. We needed a 3&D player and passed on him. F’ing crazy. First time need and bpa was right there. Makes me sick looking at this trade proposal but it’s also hard to argue. He feels a lot of wholes at a key position (SF).

He still remains the perfect player for this team. But Nets don’t control their own picks going forward, so it hurts their chances of a true rebuild.

Mikal Bridges is a more sharpshooting version of Hart. Hart is a unique player. Refs have a quick whistle on him this series and he's been semi neutralized. We know he isn't a shooter, but he's capable of making the big shot and has made numerous big 3's for us in the short time he has been here.

He is part of the solution and leveled up this team.

Hart is a rhythm player. If he’s able to impact the game the way he’s great at, the shooting will follow. If he’s neutralized and can’t influence the game, his shooting struggles will likely follow.

Kyle Anderson would be my target. But doubt Minny gives him up for the same reasons we would want him. But he is only one piece to a couple steps we need to take.

He can’t shoot a lick.

I thought he was pretty good from 3 land. At least a few years ago he was.

I guess no one liked my idea of bringing back Marcus Morris?
Been there, done that?

He’s slightly below league average on very low volume. He’s like Hart from 3 but shoots even less.

Honestly it’s not a bad idea. He would fit nicely off the bench.

After further thought , I think the guy i like is Royce O’Neale from the Nets. He’s a nice 3&D guy who can play the 3 and 4 and has plenty of playoff experience. I’d be open to moving Toppin for him (nets have many 3&D guys but no one like Toppin) and just running it back. Same team plus he adds shooting and defensive ability against bigger wings/ forwards, which is where we lack. I doubt the nets make a big trade with us but a smaller one like this makes sense.

Shot 50-40-73% put up 9-5-5-1-1. Not athletic and slow footed,a jack of all trades master of non. Filled up stat sheet a couple times with KAT out a lot of the season. Has a couple triple doubles with like 2-4stls, blks, threes.

I think the answer is more likely to be we need to draft such a guy, or find him in Serbia

Personally, i'd be happy with just a shooter and think that's more attainable.

Caleb Martin's brother COdy was hitting shots at a good clip season prior to this one. Not sure what's up with him now. He's a bit of a Hart clone who could shoot a little

ALso one of my Boston friends reminded me this morning that since Jaylen Brown made all NBA (2d team) he's now available for Super Max

First thing is can they afford him, but there is some sense it's unclear if Jaylen wants to remain in Boston

i have no idea how we pull that off but something to think about
