I hear people dreaming on guys like Zion, PG, and Kawhi and I cringe a little. The price would be high despite massive injury and load management risk. They all feel like fools gold to me give the likely price tag.

Alec Burks is a great dude but he’s not an upgrade over anyone in our rotation. He’s also a year removed from shooting an abominable 38% from 2. Replacing his shots with Brunson’s was the lowest hanging fruit imaginable to improve the offense. Also beware of numbers put up on ungodly bad teams like the current Pistons.

Honestly, this might be it. Does it get anymore effective and efficient than Brunson and Randle? They are leading a top end offense in this league. Replacing Barrett with Bridges is an unlikely, but sure solution to the Knicks solidifying their defense while maintaining the offense. I’m not advocating for LeVine, but I can see the front office convincing themselves they need one more guy in the Randle/ Brunson range and surrounding them with defense can put them over the top. LeVine will come cheaper than Mitchell due to age and contract. You can convince me that LeVine makes the Knicks better than with Barrett, but in a close game you have to play LeVine, and does he make them better in that game than Quickley or Grimes when Randle and Brunson are also in the game ? I just wonder if for all of the talent improvement it would provide, it creates more problems.

Their offense has been better with Robinson too, and the Knicks are up to fifth (!) in points per possession -- one of the season's shocking subplots. Depending on your tastes, it might be a small warning sign that a lot of New York's scoring is built on nonshooting elements: free throws, offensive rebounds, ball security. The Knicks don't generate a ton of 3s or layups, and their shot-making is average.

We will see what happens in the playoffs. One point in KAT's favor is that for a big, he's always been a great shooter.

KATs good but we would lose the anchor of our defense. If you replace Barrett with an elite scorer you’re not losing as much defensively but still gaining the offense.

Good points and my view as of now with along way before June and Free agency.
From what I read and my own view its hard to not under or over value some players. We go off on Grimes being a future all star/starks/H20, IQ is also there while RJ is shyte.
Obi is not Amare sad to say. Kenny "Sky" walker taught us winning dunk contests don't mean a whole lot.
OG has limitations and we might find frustration with his offense, especially if his salary demands are high. Easy to say "lets get a long SF with range and plays great defense". Its another to get one.
Cost beyond RJ would be high.
And.......RJ at 22 could still be the one? I don't know.

Im not apposed to either even over RJ. Im still adjusting that we have basically we have two allstars and might be closer to contending. But reality is 8 game win streak is raising the expectations and I don't trust my valuations. If true, I sure as hell don't some of our friends on the UK! No offense, we emotional.

He fits the team from a defensive and style standpoint, zero clue on what he does offensively but know it's limited.

He ain't going anywhere soon but he is the type I'd love for the Knicks to go after.

I like Tari Eason. If we could trade for him. If not draft BPA. We can sign or do a sign and trade for a vet free agent like Marcus or Marquis Morris, Harrison Barnes, Georges Giang to compete with Obi I am assuming the team improves around the margins and does not make a major trade

Morris bro's are toast, they are aging out. Doubt Barnes goes anywhere with the success Sac has been having. Giang is a nice spacer but does he really do anything else that is worth spending that MLE money on? If he can't rebound or play the rugged PF position, there is no real upgrade over Obi.
