Yup, still hope to see IQ start. Believe his ceiling is higher than 6th man. He's so efficient that he wont step on the other starter's game. Grimes might be more suited for that role.

I think you will see IQ get paid like a starter on his next contract but there just doesn't seem to be enough wiggle room to change rotation and he is just too good as a backup PG.

Maybe when they have a replacement. I'm of the mind that we might be about to sign that 3rd star, before they become a star. If that turns out to be true, its going to save the time and cap space it would take to bring in a starter. Who is equal or better than IQ.

It would be easier to develop Grimes into a backup PG (sorry to beat a dead horse) or use some draft capital, to trade for a quality backup.

D. Rose was a revelation the second time around. Maybe we can find another solid veteran PG. Still havent seen enough of Deuce as a floor general to have any degree of confidence. Not yet anyway. G league is nice, but its a starting point. Need to see more.

thinking of Haliburton I am thinking more and more we cant avoid a Sac situation where the simple truth is IQ/Brunson play the same position and it makes more sense to move one than play them both.

I think the Sac situation is different. Hal and Fox didn't play well together, and the numbers support this. That trade was more chemistry and it worked out for both teams. JB and IQ do mesh. I won't rule out a possible IQ trade, but I don't see chemistry on the court being the driving force.

We can afford to run these guys back. There's really no pressure, but I dont see being able to play the guys we want as much as we want and where we want.
