He didn’t cost them the game though their was a sequence he tried to drive to the paint and he completely messed up like he use to here. Campozzo cost them that game. He’s trash

Yeah, Campazzo is kinda in that Hezonja/Trier class of player. Entertaining to watch at times, but you're not winning if you have to depend on those guys for any meaningful minutes. Mavs really screwed up the Brunson contract negotions and, hopefully, we get a better pick out of it.

Not for nothing but both the KP situation and the non extending of Brunson has really hurt the Mavs. They shot themselves in the foot.

We pulled off the robbery with the Porzingis trade. Got rid of a selfish cancer diva and THJ’s bad contract and got picks in return. Only issue with the trade was DSJ sucked but that’s minor.

I’m loving looking back at the media praising Cuban for fleecing us

That blog thing is from may of 2020. In that time Tim Hardaway earned another contract and has played well. Despite all of that the trade netted Mavs Dinwiddie who helped them achieve a Conference Finals appearence. Knicks last year did what? They attempted to build off of Luka and did wiff.
Seems KP has blazed a bad taste every where he played. Not sure we pulled off “the Robbery” you mentioned. We used the cap space gained for Randle which has been net neutral as he has had his ups and downs. Timmy is often injured but when he plays can shoot very well.
perhaps it all comes down to what we do with the pick remaining. Hard to believe KP is 27 already!
Glad your still enjoying all of that. Find the thrills where you can. Life is short.

Now that Brunson is running the point, and we've gotten a chance to see how the rest of the starters are responding. Im somewhat concerned about a Fournier/RJ wing.

During the offseason I started a thread about moving RJ back to the 2. We know RJ starts slow every season, but most of his struggles have to do with being defended by 3s instead of 2s

That leaves us with what to do with Fournier. Some might want Grimes to step in. Not so sure he's ready to start. Summer league wasnt convincing. Although Im optimistic about his future, if he can stay healthy.

Now seeing how Brunson in the lineup changes things. Even if Fournier's starts playing well, we have a PG who leans a little towards shoot first. We also have two slow footed wing players, who have to work harder now for an open look. We need at least one speedy wing. Not an indictment of either RJ or Fournier, its about fit.

Moving RJ back to the 2, and trying to trade for a more athletic 3, might be the way to go.

100% the next step... I think most see that and EF as a stop gap player. The question is does his replacement come from inside the org or a trade?
