That's setting everyone up for failure or really not understanding what the process is for someone like RJ. Those guys typically don't extend in the summer before their last year for a lot of very obvious reasons.

I said the Knicks would offer him a max. Whether he takes it is another question, but every player wants to be offered the max rookie extension.

It's fair to say the Knicks got Rose, Grimes, Julius, Rokas, McBride, IQ, Detroit 2023 2nd round pick, Dallas 2023 first round pick, and then used cap space additionally on Taj, Fournier, Burks, Noel.

Dallas got THJr, Sinwiddie, Bertans.

Both trees are a bit dated so it may be off some.

I do discuss hoop a lot. But RJ returned and continued the most important stretch of his career were a young player finds his stride thru experience. To have a young player play important minutes as he has and then the team starts playing better and better. To increase minimal odds by tanking vs. developing players as we are doing with sim, RJ, IQ and now deuce is so important. Cam and Grimes were also on track.

This is why you play your yoot and if they are healthy so much the better.
