My guess is he will become our best PG defender 🤔, come mid season. Once he builds up more confidence.

yes yes yes

didnt know this kid from jesus but as soon as i saw his name connected with knicks/thibs and started watching video i knew he was “the one”

LOL...Exactly how I started looking at him. Saw "Thibs & favorite" in an article, and then looked for videos of him.

Impressed by some clips of him going toe to toe with Cade Cunningham. He seemed to relish the challenge, and might've taken the match-up personally, especially defending him.

I wanted him at 19 or 21, and after we took Grimes at 25 I thought he would be gone by 32...then 34...then 36.

Strange how things worked out.

By far the strangest draft I've seen for the Knicks. But overall, I can't really think of a better one in my lifetime, considering where we picked.
It is even more strange that Thibs really wanted the guy and we risked trading back to "get" him. I guess they really must have known where he might go.
Outside of Deuce's first step, I don't really have much of a criticism of him or his game. I'm sure he can improve, if his excellent lateral movements are any indication of what he is capable of.

With all the back to backs we have, along with Kemba and Rose's knees, coupled with Thibs loving the kid, I can't see Deuce not getting minutes.
They might even be substantial by the 2nd half of the season.

Kid is a bulldog and fits in with the team mentality (as does Grimes).

Strange, frustrating, and yet ultimately satisfying for many. Talking to my partner at the time (she knows squat about BB)and kept on voicing my annoyance with trading back (she had no f'n idea what I was talking about)and wondering what we were doing.

Turned out we got a good haul, and actually got to see some of their talent in SL, which I always look forward to, but frequently disappoints me.

If all 4 picks (Grimes, Deuce, Rokas and simms) pan out for the knicks and develop into starters or reliable rotation players, can this draft be considered one of their best draft class in a while. They can potentially have the PG rotation of the future(Duece and Rokas), a potential wing rotation in Grimes and hopefully a good back up center in simms.

Im hoping next year they can target a starting SF and additional back up wing in the draft. If Beal and LaVine are taken off the free agency market i think the knicks are better of developing the kids and hope a Beal type player(superstar) can emerge from their stable of youths!
